hello
i have a dell poweredge 2900 the system restarted and when it boots it gives "error loading operating system "
it got raid 5 , windows server 2003 ..all my googling gave me the reason of the error but no solution...anyone ?!
Put your Windows installation disk in and do a repair.
i should find the driver for the raid card i suppose..i will do this tomorrow.. hope i can fix it ,,thank you man
it didnt work .. had to format and recover ..
You could have got into CMD and wrote "sfc /scannow" and it would have repaired corrupted system files. If that won't work, you could have also tried chkdsk.

Anything is repairable unless it's a critical virus. I find reformatting sort of an amateur move. If you keep repairing Windows, and take 5,000 L.L (For example ofc) you'll make more money then just reformatting the whole thing.
i tried chdsk and scannow ..i fixed the boot ... same story ..it is a problem with the hdd geometry .
if you face this error again, try FIXBOOT and FIXMBR commands after checking hdd's with CHKDSK command..

for windows 7 and Vista you can use:

BootRec /Fixboot
BootRec /FixMBR
BootRec /ScanOs
BootRec /RebuildBCD
i did the fixboot and fix mbr after the check disk .. after googling i found out this is an error in the geometry of the HDD
