Ever since the storm on Thursday, uTorrent started to turn really slow. It's barely downloading, used to download on a 170-190 kb/s speed, now it's like 10 or sometimes nothing. Tried BitTorrent, it's a bit better but still. The thing us, I've tried another internet connection, it's the same even though the first one is DSL and the other one isn't. Could it be because of my computer? I don't really know what's the problem. Could've said the weather but it's all fine now..
P.S. I'm downloading 7GB files, but I don't think that's related..
Are you sure that the storm caused the slowness in your torrent transfers?
This could be a post hoc fallacy.
I don't know how, but after deleting some old torrent files (not the downloaded, just the magnet link stuff) in the uTorrent folder, the speed was back to normal. The thing is, everything got slow in the same day of the storm, not sure if it had anything to do with it.. Thank you anyway
Technically it is possible. When there is rain, ISP will reroute bandwidth over landline, available capacity will be less, and for sure torrents will be severely limited. After things get back to track, they will put everything as before.
Well it's back to normal since yesterday. I don't know but I think it was the rain, probably the reason you mentioned
