hello guys,
my brother and I own each a galaxy s2, and I rooted mine a long time ago and yesterday I had it with the bugginess of the custom rom so I decided to get back to stock rom, but mine was soft bricked so I had to unbrick it first Via odin and that is by flashing a stock 2.3.5 rom, and then I flashed another ICS 4.0.4 stock rom and everything is working fine.
My brother kept his phone with the stock rom all the time, and the update apparently didn't hit lebanon, so I told him I'll flash the ICS stock rom to his phone and he said yes; I flashed it via odin, but the flashing process got stock and never went through, and now If I turn his phone on it show a picture of a phone connected to a yellow warning triangle connected to a computer.
I tried to unbrick it the same way I did to my phone and it didn't work.
I tried to flash a new kernel then unbrick it, Flashing kernel succeeded, which will make the phone stick on the boot screen, but the unbricking part failed we're back to bottom.
I tried to flash a bootloader, the process failed.
Any idea what can I do?

first of all, since the phone is still booting (partially) there is a very big chance to recover it,second make sure the firmware you're flashing is compatible with your bro phone (maybe he have the I9100G variant ?),can you specify what do you mean by the flashing process got "stuck" (when did it stop, did the timer stop, and if you have copied the odin log post please...).
Try to turn it on in download mode and make a full flash to ics (not kernel only or bootloader only).
Metalloy
my brother have the same variant, the international one: GT i9100 .
it gets stuck as the timer dont even start,
i forgot what was written when stuck, but it would like this for ever unless I unplug the phone.
I tried full flash Ics and gingerbread, and both didnt work.
the only process that didnt fail in odin is flashing kernel.
Metalloy
I am trying to flash the gingerbread firmware with Pit.
this time Re-partition is checked.
the last 2 sentences in the log are:
<ID:0/011> DO NOT TUR OFF TARGET!!
<ID:0/011> Get PIT for mapping..
and it is stuck in here, any idea?
Metalloy
i fixed it.
Joe
Can you please explain, for future readers, what the problem was and how you managed to solve it?
Metalloy
Sure, well the problem is already mentioned, but ill put it in more simple words, i was trying to flash through Odin an ICS firmware and it failed, the timer didnt start and it just got stuck, leading to a non bootable phone, only download mode was accessible.
1) why did this happen?
there are few possible reasons, one of them being the use of a bad usb cable, which probably an old one and that has physical damage. Another possible reason is the usb port itself is faulty, i would recommend to stay away from laptops while charging, some of them just dissipate some electric current through the body including USB ports which may interfere with the flashing process.
what happened in my case is a little bit of both actually.
2) what you should do.in similar.situations? make sure you solved all the problems mentioned in "1)", your safest bet would be using a desktop, that what worked for me, or if there's no desktop available, just use your laptop but not while charging it. Now that you're working with a decent setup, just do the flashing/recovery process and your phone should boot again without a problem.
I'm on my phone right now, so I cannot link you to the recovery process, I will as soon as I use my laptop.
