Though I am noticing a great decrease of desktop sales in Lebanon because everyone wants a laptop nowadays, do you think we can still do money from desktop sales?
PC clients in Leb are divided into these categories:
1- Laptops only
2- Desktops prebuilt from brand names
3- Desktops built from parts at the shop around the corner (they are not technical enough to build a rig)
4- Desktops from Pcandparts
5- Desktop parts ordered from abroad or brought by relatives (excluding cases and power supplies due to their weight)
Your clients will be 2-3-4-5.
2- and 3- will be very hard to convince.
4- and 5- are the ones you have a chance with.
If you can ask for a lower price than pcandparts then you have 4- in the bag.
If your prices aren't too high, you might even have a chance with 5-, because the advantages you give are warranty (can you?) and a speedy delivery.
That said, I am pessimistic that this could work. There was room for one business in that field and pcandparts took it. Is there any room for two (competing)? Or does one have to close down the other?
