- ASUS Radeon R9 290 DirectCU II OC - Comes with a backplate - $220
- Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X OC - $180
The Sapphire is priced at $180 because it is a bit older than the Asus (6 months) and because the middle fan only kicks in at 80% fan speed or above. I'm not sure if it's defective or not but in automatic mode fan speeds never go above 55% in my case (HAF X) and temperature is around 80 Degrees C which is the norm for those 290s.
