So I was thinking of getting an Alienware x51, went to SETS (dell dealer) but they only had m14x and m18x laptops which are way out of my budget.

I was thinking about Cyberpower, but can we actually buy them in Lebanon? I mostly want to buy my things from here and not ship them

Thanks for helping!

(oh, and I prefer desktops)
Build your own PC, it will cost much cheaper and it will be more reliable.
How much is your budget exactly ? and do you want to buy just the case ? or would you prefer a monitor, UPS and peripherals? Also, at what resolution are you planning to game on ?

A user called Avolio just brought a rig that I'm going to build for him on Thursday. These are the specs :
Gigabyte Pro Odin 800W PSU
Intel Core 3.4GHz - i5-3570 6M/LGA1155 Original Boxed
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H (rev. 1.0) (DDR3) (LGA1155)
Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model KHX1600C10D3B1/8G
2X WD 1TB WD1002FAEX 7200RPM SATAII 64MB Black Edition (RAID 0)
Gigabyte GV-N670OC-2GD 1.0 GeForce GTX 670 2GB DDR5
LG GH24NS90-24X DVDRW - Dual Layer SATA Black OEM
Cooler Master Mega Flow 200 R4-LUS-07AB-GP 20cm Red LED Fan
Cooler Master Hyper 212 R4-L2R-20CK-GP 12cm Red LED Fan
ThermalTake Chaser MK-I case.

I think it cost him around 1200 - 1700$
All parts are from PCandParts.com. They ship the parts to you and you pay on arrival. They do build it for you if you want, but I would really prefer if you build it yourself.

Here is the link of his topic
I was thinking about pcandparts but I'm not really sure about them.. I mean I've used them in the past but I'm not really keen on getting parts from them.

Do you not know any other place that would build computers, places with a showroom. (I've been thinking about Micropholie or Gamma computers)
Stay away from "Shops" they will just sell you crap.

PCandParts are the most reliable place you can find in Lebanon. I actually run a small business by getting the parts from them and adding a bit of profit.

I have tried lots of companies before and I found them the best there is. (In Lebanon anyway).

Avolio got a "Gaming" PC from a place called GCC (A store in Dekweneh), they sold him an i7 2600 8GB of regular ram 1TB HDD with a GT520 2GB with a Chinese PSU.
The main reason not to buy from shops or stores is that they still think 2GB VGA > 1GB VGA so it runs all games (Which is very wrong)

I don't think you will find any place more reliable than PC and Parts.

(And no I don't work for them, nor do they pay me to do any advertising for them and have no relationships with them whatsoever)
That i7 rig that i got aint mine! it is my bros pc, and i hade no idea that he was going to buy a pc when he got it.
Or else i would have stopped him and advised him to get a custom Pc from pcandparts.
Which is like Avo said, best in lebanon!

Also he didnt get the pc from GCC, he got it from a place called Cysco computers... or something.

Sysco ? LOL, those are the worse! The shop I used to work at used to bring laptops from them. They would bring the wrong number and the products are trash.
So I get this offer:

CPU INTEL i7-2600, 3.40GHz, Turbo, 8M Cache, Graphic, LGA1155
MotherBoard intel DH67 ORIGINAL
Kingston RAM 8gb DDR3
HDD 500Gb Sata Seagate
Case Thermal Take 460 Watts REAL
DVD Writer Dual Layer LG 22x Sata
GeForce GTX 660 GOLD EDITION PCX 2 GB GDDR5 DUAL DVI + HDMI + DP 192 BIT
LED 22 inch LG HD Wide
Price: 1190$ TTC
I couldn't find any gtx660 with a gold edition
Choose the parts and have them build it for you.
Get this:
Intel i5 3570 (You won't need an i7, because there is NO performance difference between an i5 and an i7 in gaming) Although if you want OCing get a 3770K
2xKingston HyperX Blu 4GB
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H
ThermalTake VN400A1W2N Commander MS-I
Gigabyte GE-X650A-CI GreenMax 650W PSU
1TB ST1000DM003 7200RPM S-ATA III 64MB
Gigabyte GV-N66TOC-2GD 1.0 GeForce GTX 660Ti 2GB DDR5 (660Ti vs non Ti)
System will cost 1124$ + VAT 10% = 1236.4$ + 10$ Assembly + 10$ Shipping (Shouldn't be more than that) = 1256.4$

PLEASE get a 1080P (1920x1080) Monitor and don't get a 1600x900 (Like the one in the offer)

LG IPS224T is 149$ + VAT and has an IPS panel (IPS vs LED)

Keyboard/Mouse, just get a Micrsoft Wired Desktop 400 for 20$ or something and it's amazing!

SO!, that's a total of 1256.4+163.9(Monitor)+ 20(Keyboard/Mouse) = 1440.8$ (If it's too much, just say so, that way I can choose the parts again so that they are cheaper) :)

Note : All parts are from PCandParts.com (Again, NEVER buy from shops!)
Avo, you made a reference regarding most stores think a 2gb graphic card is better than a 1gb graphic card. This is true but funny enough when i called pcandparts inquiring about their laptops a bit, the guy on the phone had almost 0 knowledge when it comes to graphic cards.

i told him i am running a 5750 vapor x and i am looking for a laptop that could possibly give me similar performance. He recommended a laptop which i cant remember exactly but the card in it is so far from what i am running it was funny. The reason i know is i have checked plenty of benchmarks on the cards featured in their laptops versus mine. Anyways his comment was something like its a 6000 series it has to be better than a 5750. Not only that is not true in every case but we are also talking "m" since it is a laptop.

Also i would like to advise anyone that a desktop and specifically a gaming desktop is very relative. It could easily depend on budget. An 800$ desktop with a regular 21 inch screen could run most games on high settings.

In my opinion, a good gaming rig could be around 800 to 1000 while a great rig could run around 1400-1600 like the one mentioned above. More than that and i think it is overkill.

Some people such as myself are not really limited by budget ( but i am definitely not dropping 2000+ for 3 hours a week of gaming since i only have this much free time) but are only looking to game occasionally with above average graphics.
Well, I never said that PCandParts has knowledge about graphics cards, when it comes to specifications no one knows what you want/need unless they know what software you are planning to run. The most basic way to find out what to get is: You get the piece of software you want to run and get the specifications the makers recommend.

For 800$ you can get a great gaming system with an i5 4/8GB of RAM 1TB HDD and a GT 630/GT 630. However, this PC cannot run 1080P games above 30FPS, which means that you may have some problems when it comes to games that have big explosions and stuff. I don't recommend anything below a 660 for 1080P gaming. But when it comes to lower resolutions (Such as, 1440*900 or 1600*900) A GT 630 or 640 is more than enough for anything.

But anything below 1080P is not considered to look good in terms of graphics. 1080P has become a standard in gaming resolutions, anything lower than that just seems to "pixely" as you can see some pixels, in 1080P you can't see that much pixels unless you look really really close, making the picture look cleaner/smoother.

However if you insist on getting a 800$ rig, I'd get:
i5 3450
2 x 4GB Kingston DDR3 RAM
Asus P8H61-M LX
Foxconn TSAA725 ATX Case 400W
Seagate 500GB ST500DM002
(Random DVDRW)
Gigabyte GeForce GT640
LG E2041S Wide 20" LED
PCE 850VA UPS
LG 800 Slim Mini USB Keyboard Black + LG F-101 Slim Mouse USB Black
It will come at 809$ (Considering shipping comes at 6$)

If you had more money, I'd change to a Samsung monitor as it will have better colors and sharpness, and a better power supply like an XFX 450W.
I was wondering what would you do with a 2000 $ budget to build a gaming pc from scratch even with mouse and keyboard

Same as this, would only make the CPU a 3770K and get the Asus P8Z77-V and change the PSU to an 800W and maybe change that 670 to 2x660Tis and RAID 0 2 of that WD Black drive.
But if you game at 1080P, you won't need anything more than the system from the original post.
