Greetings,
I just got my modded Xbox I have no clear idea about it. I tried a game (AC) but it said disk is unreadable but that's right after I enter the game picture and then press play. Under "play" there was "install" I tried it but like the electricity got off and when I tried again, the unreadable thing popped up and then everytime I enter the cd it gives me "unreadable disk" instead of the Assasin's Creed's game picture.I mean where am I supposed to go to play the game? I remember on my nephew's Wii there was a place to enter to play (modded) other than the place you enter to play by the original disk. Is it the same? idk really
Xpert
install is not necessary to play the game , and if disc is unreadable you can't install.
also disc is always needed even if the game is installed on HDD.
try to get another disc and if it didnt check with the guy who flashed your xbox.
hussein-berjaoui
He told me some disks should be special copied to work on the 2013 mod.. what is that.. !
Xpert
yes sure, you need the XGD3 games that are 100% like original. and unfortunately you might not find them any where. I have them if you want.
hussein-berjaoui
Can you please tell me more about these?
Xpert
in order to be safe online and not flagged or banned you need your copy game to be 100% like original, so you need to get a copy game that is burned with iHas burner on Verbatim media. so you will have no more errors reading game like disc unreadable or clean your disk.
it will run the same as original.

I asked the guy who flashed it, he said I have LT 3.0 but he told me not to go online. Many friends got the same flashing thing but still manage to go online without a ban. They flashed theirs at some guy in Hamra, do you think I should visit him to check if I'll have problems after going online, or take the risk by myself? I'm a newbie when it comes for Xbox. And for the disks, yeah I think that's what he did while copying them, I'm gonna do the same soon
gamer2K
if its LT+3.0 its 100% safe to go online. who ever tells you something other than that its not true
hussein-berjaoui
And what if it wasn't that, and he just told me it is? Plus my friend had LT+3.0 but the seller took his drive for some reasons (I heard they need to do that, when they want to mod the device) and when he went online he got banned but later fixed it at the same guy mentionned above

I played FIFA 12 online for a year without getting banned, and that was on LT+2.0. I don't think the version of the mod really depends right now because Microsoft have been busy with their new dashboard update and they haven't been doing ban waves for a while. Even if it's LT+3.0, they're going to find out at the end of the day and get you banned.
You're safe right now though, but I suggest you not to pay for Gold while playing on modded xbox, because you'd really get fucked if you get banned after paying.
I gave up on pirated games myself
gamer2K
i guess you dont have the technical info for lt+3.0.
You will only get a ban if your xgd3 is truncated cause when you do that you remove the CIV security check.
The new XGD3 burn will give more space than the classical cause they use the internal border of the disk itself, that space will be reserved for protection and normal Dvd driver cannot read-write on them. That's why you need an iHAS drive to be able to do a 100% burn.
XGD2 games are approximately 7.3GB on size while XGD3 are 8.7GB so 1.4GB bigger.
That's the main reason why Microsoft has changed the media. Of course, they also added the new security checks, such as CIV and new AP 2.5 system as i said before.
XGD3 is a whole new concept of media, so you update your firmware to LT+ 3.0 or keep playing old XGD2 games. Period.
Else if you want to play a truncated XGD3 online expect a BAN.
You may burn your games truncated with any generic drive, that's fine. It's simple and cheap. The matter is, some new games (for instance, EVERY game which came after Forza 4 have the new kind of security check ( CIV ).
If you play a game which is CIV-enabled, burnt on a truncated media, you'll lose some of the new AP
2.5 checks, as when you truncate your media, some data will not be written to the disc.
You'll be flagged for a ban. So, if you don't ever plan to connect your X360 online, or you're already banned, you
can just do it.
Otherwise, buy a an iHAS drive which will is enable you to burn full XGD3 rips as it's 8.7GB in size using the inner disc space, about 200MB over default capacity of the disc and you're good to go.
If you are not into burning your own games then ONLY buy XGD3 burned with iHAS which is unfortunately hard to find in usual places.

My friend used this method (or something really close) and he gets to go online and play the games, no ban..

and btw, I'm not really sure, what do they mean by ISO and "take a game to Xbox Live" ?
gamer2K
this guide you posted the link for it is for xgd2 games which has nothing to do with xgd3.
we are discussing how to get a ban, you will only get it if your burn of xgd3 is truncated.
xgd2 games on 3.0 will work well without any problems and also no ban since there is no truncated iso's for these kind of games.
hussein-berjaoui
But the new games are all xgd3 right?
gamer2K
yes , all new games are xgd3 and the only way to play them safe without errors is to burn them with the right dvd burner.
hussein-berjaoui
So it's a bit complicated over here. Is it worth doing all this stuff just to go online? What can I do online?

Play games online, add friends, compare achievements with them, send messages, check facebook, browse the internet (with the new update)
Still you'll have to pay for Gold to be able to play games online. You get one month free.
hussein-berjaoui
And there are games where you can play against other people right? Is that a part of Xbox Live Gold?

Yes, that's the whole point of Gold.

Oh I see. One more question.. my friend has a modded Xbox, he goes online and everything. He burns the xgd3 games the same way he burns xgd2 ones, no iHas burner but the method mentionned in the link above. (Xgd3 games like Modern warfare 3 Assassin's creed Revelation) how is that then..?
