@najalb i don't care about price, i was not talking if t is worth the price.
I was saying that it is not worth the upgrade, all i wanted to see is a new"" feature, but it seems that all devices (new ones) are getting same features. So that's why iPhone 5 is not worth the upgrade...
You know what would have been a really ass kicking iPhone 5? A large sized phone (5 inch+), large storage capacity, usable and fully functional bluetooth communication, a bigger battery, a metal-glass chassis, a higher res 12MP+ camera made by carl zeiss, HD front cam, apple glowing logo on the back, placing the audio port in the bottom, and the ability to transfer photos/video/music/files from/to your iphone without the itunes sync crap (for now you can only read the photos and videos but cannot put new ones).

That's all what I could wish for. No need for this NFC, nano sim, A6 processor crap.

Sorry for the following but, if anyone figures out a way to install iOS fully functional on Samsung S3, then darn that would be the best phone yet.
@mrclass again you're 100% right, your opinion is the same as mine.
Upgrades on iPhone 5 won't attract people that much. The new additions aren't that useful, to be honest. I'm not an Apple fan myself, but MrClass's opinion totally rocks.

If that was a facebook status, i would totally press the "like" button.
I was really interested in the new Ipod 5, it looks awesome and has multiple colors. Concerning the Iphone, I think it looks the same as the 4s except bigger screen and A6 and the mini connector dock, other then that it looks the same as the old boring iphone look. They should really consider changing the next Iphone's appearance.
A bit underwhelming.

iPhone 5 vs Nokia Lumia 920 is going to be an interesting read once both are available.
What is the advantage that iOS offers over Android, especially now that Jelly Bean is available?

(This question is targeted at those who agree that iOS on a flagship Android phone, the Galaxy S3, is a good idea).

I wanna hear your thoughts. In detail.
yay 4G LTE, can't wait for HTC and samsung to sue the hell out of Apple!

Absolutely nothing, in the ios you slide in the lockscreen and there you have the apps, but on the android you can customize everything and has some pretty cool animation and alot of lockscreen options. Don't forget that every update on the ios, lets your phone slow down, but on the android it speed it up. ( Now jailbreak, that's another story :) ).

That is why I am sticking with iOS. If the android community gives me something similar to installous, I would sell my iphone and get an S3 right now. Maybe they will later, you never know.
Posted here cus my thread got blocked.
well as a previous iPhone 4s owner and currently a happy Samsung galaxy s3 owner i have to say that the iPhone 5 has improved allot from the previous 4s but is still far away from some other currently dominating phones in the market(s3/razr/onex).
So basically the improvements are a .5 inch larger than the previous 4s screen(meh).
.thinner, longer and lighter by margins (so what? who cares if its o.8 mm thinner??and 10 grams lighter seriously).
.a6 CPU (still on dual cores ?)
.New cord, previous iPhone and apple products are gonna be disappointing to know that the gonna have to get new accessories cus their previous docs and stuff wont work with this new cord.(just make a micro usb ffs like all the other phones in the world).
.new earphones (WOOOOOOW...)
.still no micro sd card in 2012(galaxy s3 has 64gb internal storage +sd card so thats like 128gb)
.same boring brick design.
I would highly recommend everyone who has an iPhone 4 or 4s to not bother with buying this,Its basically the same phone with a .5 inch bigger screen witch you can all live without.
If someone wants to buy a new phone and was waiting for this to come out i would say that the Samsung galaxy s3 is the phone king at the moment with quad core CPU 2 GB ram 4.8 super amoled hd + screen and jelly bean android it is a deal breaker for 570$ witch is cheaper than the 4s and of course 10X cheaper than the i phone 5 when it is released (1000+$ in Lebanon lol).FYI android does not need jailbreak or instalous to do cool stuff do more research and you will understand what i mean.as for the gui well you can go with the bland and boring ios or the fully customizable android with live wallpapers and widgets.(think about it).

"Installous is an iOS application developed by docmorelli and originally created by puy0. Installous allows users to download, install, update and share cracked iOS applications in a clean and organized fashion. It has been installed on nearly thirteen million different devices. " definition from http://hackulo.us

There are several black markets on Android. It's much easier to download cracked apps on Android as well. You can just side-load apps by enabling a single option in developer options. You need absolutely no tweaking to achieve this.

However, measures may be taken by Google starting from Jelly Bean. They tried app encryption, but it didn't work for them, so they skipped it.

Cracking apps can get harder, but as long as an app is running locally, it can always be cracked. In this case, both platforms are similar.

Any other reasons?

I know this is out of topic but I really want to talk about this precise point now. I'm like you, I download cracked apps on my Android phone, then one day I was thinking that why am I downloading cracked apps which only cost 99 cents, cheaper than a piece of chocolate.

If I sum app the price of cracked apps installed, it would be around 20-30$. So after all the hard work a developer is spending to make a game on a certain device, were are not even agreeing to pay a 1$ for an app that we will use on all our smartphones and the upcoming ones using the same account. Actually, we are acting as greedy people, we pay 700$ for a brand new smartphone and we end up not accepting to pay a couple of bucks for the apps that we use everyday.

At Innovo, we were looking forward to start working on a game for the Android platform. So couple of days ago, I was calculating the average hours of work it might needs, and I was thinking about if the people will pay for it or not, but it sees most will end up downloading a cracked version rather than paying just 99 cents once with all updates included. This actually angered me a bit and I made my mind to stop downloading cracked apps, especially on the Android platform. Maybe I wont change anything, but at least I'll be helping as much as i can.

Anyway back to the topic, nothing special or new in the new iPhone.

same here. I stopped downloading cracked apps a while ago. Since most of the apps that I use on android are free I didnt face a problem. As for the few paid apps/games they are around 10-15, and most are 99 cents. and the plus i get the latest updates as they are released from the dev.
One other plus on android is that google often does some sales where they offer app at 25 cents and 10 cents, and even offer free for limited time
When I bought my Android phone, I had a policy to not download a single cracked app, whatever it cost. On the other hand, all my friends have those big high-cost games that they never play.

GTA3 is not available for our region and as much as I would have liked to play it, and I want to pay for it, it's not available. I didn't download it.

I had the same feeling as well, m0ei. I was having big thought on developing a paid app targeted for a Lebanese audience, and I realized that the only way to stop piracy is to make it an online-only service. Sort of like an online game. That way, serial authentication and such can be used.

However, let's not drift this topic any further. Anyone who wants to open a topic about this, or reuse an existing topic, I'm all for it.
I wasn't really disappointed, since my expectations were not high anyway. I won't upgrade for the next one or two years. I'm content with what I have.
@samer what do you have?
@elchebib Nokia lost smartphone market years ago, now it is about android and iOS.
Devil'sAdvocate wroteApple failed big time with the new ipad and the Iphone 5
iPhone 5 yes, but why the new iPad .. ?
The new iPad is worth the upgrade, with the retina display, it looks awesome.
