abd Hi, I want to create a website for a company and I need to do it on visual studio so my visual studio is not licensed so I need to know if I created my asp.net website and I bought a domain name and paid for the web hosting should I be paying more money for the website to be legal or? plus to get the copyright signed at the end of the page of the website what should I do? please I really need a reliable answer, thank you.
Nabs Abd, like Rolf said, your license is to USE Visual Studio. Any product that comes out is presumed to be a product of a fully licensed use of the software. So, 1. No, you don't need to pay anything extra. 2. To add the copyright notice at the footer of your website, you simply need proof that the website and the content inside are related. That simple. You can't, for example, build a website for Hayfa Wehbeh and then go copyright... when you're not Hayfa. However, if you sell product X, and you build a website for your store selling that, the copyright notice applies. Usually, people put that notice in the footer just to prevent other people from using the site's contents. If your website is yours and it is about your company, you're clear, mate.
abd thank you rolf and nabs, I know that the license is for the visual studio usage but if visual studio is not licensed that won't appear in the published website and won't cause troubles plus should I be adding the copyright mark at the end of the website's page? thanks.
abd by not at all you mean that my visual studio won't appear that it's not licensed right? and can I add the copyright at the end of the web page? thank you.
Fischer Yes come on man, everyone uses cracked software in lebanon, cracked antivirus, cracked photoshop, cracked windows 7 cds, cracked games... why are you so worried about it? it's just stupid.
Nabs Abd, I already explained the copyright notion. It has nothing to do with what you're asking. Irrelevant. 2 separate issues.
abd ok thanks alot I am worried cz it's the first time that I create a website for a company and it's not mine it's for my uncle, that's why. thank you.
babum xterm wroteIf you stole a pen and wrote a paragraph on a paper, is that paper yours? Awesome way to explain things haha. On another subject, do the people you are working with/for mind if you are using cracked software? that could be important.
