Hey guys this is my first time I post on this forum I just registered (nice touch with Pythagoras's theorem) Anyways I am having some serious issues with my CPU its an E7500,its temperatures are at 50-69 degrees celsius when idle mostly in the 50s and reaches well over 90 under heavy load (hit 100 once while running prime95 and PC shut down)
I got the readings from the BIOS and from CPUID's HWMonitor,it is not overclocked and still on its stock cooler, when I took apart the cooler to clean the dust out I noticed that the thermal paste has completely dried out,and after cleaning the cooler I reseated it perfectly to make sure that's not the issue.
All other components such as the motherboard's chip,RAM,and GPU have temperatures of 36-38 when idle and GPU has temperatures of 50-65 under heavy load such as FutureMark 11 Performance and Extreme presets.
So my question is any ideas on what to do? Where can I get new thermal paste from, like not the crap used for engines and fridges and whatever, the real deal such as Arctic Cooling and the likes, and what aftermarket air coolers are there for a price range of 10-30$ and where can I get them, because I might overclock the CPU later if I resolve the heat issues,I live in Jounieh so the closer the shop the better.
And one more thing I used to get a score of ~2000 on FutureMark 11's Physics test now I only get a score of 1100 same hardware same software nothing changed,so could it be that the heat is causing that performance degradation?
Specs:
Mobo: Intel DG41RQ
CPU: Intel E7500 @ 2.93 GHz
GPU: ASUS DCUII OC GTX 560 non-Ti
RAM: 2x 1 GB Kingston RAM (forgot frequency)
Screen: 16:10 HDTV @ 1920x1200
U might try ROG store or try pcanparts. U can get a new cooler if u want ull get a good thermal paste with it.
You mean Republic of Gamers? If so I dont know its address tried searching for it on its Facebook page. I checked PCandParts they don't have neither. Any idea at what prices am I looking at for the cooler?
Edit:
And is the performance decrease due to the heat issues?
No matter how crappy the paste may be it never let's the CPU get so hot like that.

You can find paste at most computer stores, before applying clean your heatsink and CPU HIS with Alcohol (The stronger the % the better) Use tissue paper and wipe as much as you can until it's squeaky clean. Then get another piece of tissue and wipe it again and see if there's more coming out, because when it becomes clean, the tissue you wipe with it should stay clean. If it doesn't keep cleaning.

Now take out your paste and apply it on the center of the CPU and it should be the size of an uncooked piece of rice.
Like so :

Then give the heatsink a final wipe and check the feet and make sure they are close to each other as possible so that one doesn't stay out while installing it.

After you put the feet inside the holes of the motherboard, work in a cross, which means, click the top left then the bottom right, and so on...

If you've done everything correctly your CPU shouldn't run as hot as 90 degrees anymore.
Actually I asked computer shops in my area and they don't have any,can anyone give me the address of ROG? And thank you Avok95 for your input I also needed a guide :P But the problem is I don't have thermal paste at all on the CPU it all dried out. :P And again I ask would heat degrade performance?

RoG doesn't have an address, you pay him a deposit and your order will arrive in a few weeks.

Where do you live exactly, maybe I could help you out.
But he is relocating so I don't know where to get from,I heard there is this guy called Katarji or something I forgot whats his name, and I am currently located in Jounieh but transportation is tough as I don't have my own car yet.
Just to clear things out a bit, thermal pastes do not cool CPUs down. They just make a fast bridge between the CPU and the metal cooler above it. Having that said, crappy products genuinely do nothing. So, AvoK95, sorry buddy, but if it's cheap stuff, it will do you absolutely no good at all.

@TheSavior111, I can get you some mediocre stuff, all that's available right now. But you need to check your board's power, your PSU, and your fans. Sometimes the overheating is not just CPU issues alone. PM for further assistance if you like. Have a good one.
Thanks Nabs I know whats the role of thermal paste I will apply Arctic Cooling MX4 and if it doesnt lower temps and solve the issue will look to other causes such as PSU and fans.
Savior111, question was “From where he can get Thermal Paste” not Q&A about my store; how I order and how to pay… as for the location I think I had seen your face twice right? Does your favorite store own a place? I guess not. Evade Trolling since this is a typical scenario nowadays. As for that “Cheap White Dot in the pic on top”, that is a “NO, NO” since 99% will end up damaging the chip instead of saving you.
I got my thermal paste and thermal paste remover from amazon through dhl. They have this free service DHL easyshop where you get an address in the U.S. and they ship it back from there to Lebanon. This can be costly though but sometimes unavoidable.

On a side note my GPUs are reaching 105 deg C, which is the maximum temperature allowed for them. Do you advise changing the thermal paste? I've been on the stock one for 4 years now.
Tarik, Mate your “Gpu Paste” has dried out ages ago so definitely I advise you applying a fresh paste.
Thanks Tarek, I actually reapplied some new thermal paste seems to perform the same (reaching max temp) but at least I'm less worried now.
So it's fine now right ?
Tarik wroteThanks Tarek, I actually reapplied some new thermal paste seems to perform the same (reaching max temp) but at least I'm less worried now.
Tarik, what GPU model are you using? Do you have a Direct Heatpipe design?

To check whether you have Direct Heatpipe Design, its base should look like this:
I have two gtx285 in sli mode one gigabyte and the other asus. I don't think it's a direct heat pipe design. It seems just a big cooler with a fan. This is a pic of the model:

Games are running mostly smoothly at very high settings even new ones like skyrim and BF3 however I'm really worried about the temperature reaching 105 deg C that's besides daily errors of "your vga has stopped working and recovered". It's a bad omen from my experience.
105c WOW !

You should blow air through the fan and you'll see huge amount of dust coming out !
Does the fans accelerate to 100% while overheating ? if not install EVGA Precision and put your fans at least @ 80% while gaming, if you like jets set it to 100%
Well at least I know now that 105 is really bad and something should be done about it. I'll try a more comprehensive cleanup and maybe get some dust busters.
One small silver lining in all of this is that the temp should slightly decrease in a few days after the thermal paste sets in (break in time). But only slightly, which means you still need to find the cause.
