Tarek hello guys my boss has a samsung S2 GT0I9100 gingerbread version 2.3.4 and I'm facing an issue with the arabic language .. when i receive anything in arabic the letters are spaced ..it is like this letter-space-letter-space-letter ...etc How can i fix this ?! thank you
Leonedes Androids before ICS did not officially support arabic. There are unofficial solutions such as flashing roms that support arabic, but I doubt that's the solution you are looking for. If the phone got the official ICS update already (cause almost all SGS2 I've seen in Lebanon have not), just upgrade and your problem is solved. If not, I recommend you install the Opera web browser, for some reason, it can read arabic normally. As for messages, I have no solution.
Tarek I found this solution : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1063205 but now i need to root the phone .. If i upgrade to ICS , what will happen with the apps and data ? also i am in congo , how can i update to ICS ?!
chosen2k As PSY mentioned if the phone is not rooted just plug it to ur pc and update normally to ICS using KIES. If it is rooted or Kies is telling you "your device does not support software upgrading via kies" You will need to use Odin to go back to your stock firmware and then Upgrade. (If you want to keep the phone on a stock firmware) Or you can just use Odin to flash ICS.
lebknight you can re flash it with Arabic firmware using odin this is a Saudi Arabia Android 4.0.3 version http://www.hotfile.com/dl/163577094/206addb/I9100JPLPF_I9100OJPLPC_KSA.zip.html
