I'm a linux mint guy, i switched to ubuntu 12.04 LTS to try it (i regret that, unity sucks, cinnamon rocks) i found out that some software are missing, gdebi and synaptic package manager are installed by default on mint, i can't find them on ubuntu, are they installed or do i have to install them?
some software are missing from ubuntu
i believe u can find them easly in ubuntu software center and installing them will take couple of minutes "depends on your internet connection and their size"
also you could easly use cinnamon under ubuntu 12.04 LTS
I believe that cinnamon is now available in ubuntu’s repo. Search and install it using software center, or use sudo apt-get install cinnamon.
if not founded, open terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gwendal-lebihan-dev/cinnamon-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cinnamon

i know how to install cinnamon, i installed it on mint 12 when it was first released and i know how to install gdebi and synaptic
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install synaptic
sudo apt-get install gdebi
but i am shocked that these software are not installed by default

Cinnamon is developed for/by Linux Mint not Ubuntu!Fischer wrotei know how to install cinnamon, i installed it on mint 12 when it was first released and i know how to install gdebi and synaptic

Synaptic/Gdebi/KDE Installer are replaced by Ubuntu Software Center (of coarse, less flexible :P)

@TPRO i installed gdebi ans synaptic, i don't know what you mean by replaced by software center, you can't install any deb from software center like google chrome (not chromium) software center can't replace synaptic, the software center is useless, it's just an interface for the noobs to install software, it can't replace anything
i know cinnamon is created by mint but it can be installed on ubuntu
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gwendal-lebihan-dev/cinnamon-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cinnamon
