My parents live in a place called Jinsnaya east to Saida.
There's no land line in the residence they're in, so we're shit out of luck in terms of DSL.
3G has a way of being flickery: different rooms, different receptions. Anyway, it's a last option since it's pretty expensive.
They're currently using a wireless thing they got from what appears to be a VISP reseller. It started out good enough (compared to having nothing) but currently, for its price, the service is pretty horrible. The latency is so high, it's even visible while browsing.
What are our options? I'll owe you a big one if you have a useful suggestion or a good lead.

Tried the Wise box thing?

I think they tried the Mobi thing. Couldn't reach em. It does have a have a hefty price tag on it as well.
I guess I should try all the different wireless providers (give them a call).
But how about that old residential microwave thing? Still working? Updated price tags?
And for last option, satellite?

Satellite upload is illegal in Lebanon
Have no clue regarding the microwave

I suggest you stick with what you have, if Mobi didn't work. There's "Wise" too, which is similar to Mobi. There might a 3rd similar thing, if I remember well, I'm not sure though.
Satellite was not worth the hassle last time I checked, I don't think it has changed.
If 3g is no good then I have doubts about the other things. Note that 3g reception on Touch seems to be better then Alfa sometimes, so if you have alfa, try to give Touch a try. Reception also varies with the phone.
