Question about majors in lebanese university

My friend lives in Nabatieh. He has just finished school, he graduated in sociology & economics. He's thinking About going to the lebanese university in saida. He asked me about 2 majors, he gave me the names in arabic.

i don't think he can do the 2nd one, it sounds like CCE which require a GS degree, but can he do the 1st one? And if he can, what will he study? What what would he do for a living? Is it a good career?

Too late ! As far as I know, the entrance exams were undertaken a month ago, and I don't think he can apply to the second major but I don't see why he couldn't to the first one. I'm about to attend my first year at UL, in Ashrafieh.

The first 3 semesters will be purely business, just like any business student. The other 3 semesters will be IT related, including Networking, programming, security, operating systems...etc. As for the career options, he can either be a developer, system administrator or even a business analyst.

I studied MIS at the Lebanese University (Hadath) and I'm currently working as a software engineer.
