Well i have not downloaded it. Can anyone who has and is using windows 8 rtm (final version) on pc as a main/sub os (not on virtual machine) give us a review about it like the pros, cons, performance notices, GUI changes.
also if its faster then windows 7 and memory leak free. Moreover, tell us if the compatibility with older hardware and applications is functioning normally.
Questions :
Do you feel you've made the mistake of your life when you have installed windows 8 ? I'll be downloading windows 8 just for the curiosity.. ;)

Technically it still hasn't been released to MSDN. It will be released on August 15 and a bit earlier for volume licence customers. Though there are leaked builds already available, I am waiting for the official MSDN ISO and I plan on installing it as soon as I verify it with the official checksums.

I got an All in one ISO with al Editions of Win8 AND 2012 Server ... Win8 is utter BS ... MetroUI killed it ... All I can say is that Win8 is Microsoft's ME(Windows ME) moment ...

I just downloaded the MSDN image and tried it on a virtual machine. So far not so bad. Seems like the constant switching between Metro and the Desktop can be jarring. In addition, I am still getting used to Metro's horizontal scrolling interface using the mouse and keyboard.
It's still too early to judge, but I guess as soon as I find a way to activate it, I will migrate to it from Windows 7. In my opinion, there is no real disadvantage to moving away from Windows 7. You don't lose anything. The only possible annoyance I can think of right now is being forced to boot into Metro and being forced to use it as a start screen/menu.
omar_killer
well there is an app (~300kb) that can disable the metro ui,just google it.
TechXero
I know but it's too clunky plus ViStart for start Menu still won't let me share my MOBI connection and many annoying things like that make it crap not worth my quota let alone money xD
Ziad87
Yeah I heard they found new workarounds for disabling Metro. I am going to try to live with it. I think I might get used to it and even like it.
TechXero
Well if it let me share my Mobi connection kenet bfakker fiya bass I Depend on that so .... You do the math xD
Ziad87
How did you used to share your MOBI connection on Windows 7? Through the built-in ICS (Internect Connection Sharing)?
TechXero
Easy, as you said with Win 7 Built in ICS .. I just share the PPPOE Dialup thing called Mobi PPPOE with network card which is connected to wireless router n boom it works ;)
Ziad87
OK. I am not really sure I understand what is preventing you from doing this in Windows 8. It doesn't work anymore?
If that's the case, try this application: Connectify (
http://wwwlb1.connectify.me/download-lite/?refid=). I believe it has more features than the default ICS. It also sometimes works when ICS doesn't (at least from my experience).
TechXero
yeah won't let me configure my settings ... I do it manually .. hope that app u sent works on win8 se3eta maybe I might give win8 a chance ...
EDIT :
Crap software !!!!!!!
Ziad87
Weird. Maybe there are still some incompatibilities with Windows 8. I have used Connectify on numerous Windows 7 machines and it never gave me any issues.
TechXero
well this IS windows 7 .. ba3ed ma jarrabet Win8 on a real machine since early beta ... bass still service IS started but software not seeing it for some reason xD
rolf
I had win 8 installed. I still have the ISO if you're interested.
It's good and usable, but the metro interface is not (yet) IMHO. It will also expire in Jan 2013.
I replaced it with Windows 7, and I did not regret that. But 8 is OK overall.

Not at all.
Windows 8 is better than 7 if you're using a touch device since it has it's own UI.

In terms of performance, windows 8 offers a slight improvement over windows 7

It is exactly like Android ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) versus JB (Jelly Bean) ... Lots of stuff optimized and others just stripped out
