I already purchased the gevey ultra sim S, it managed to unlock the phone, but it does not activate it :/
The modem firmware is 2.0.10.

That's a real problem...
I googled for half an hour and found that "There's no way to activate a 4S without an official SIM", formerly you're right. But why don't you contact that Sweden company and ask them to unlock the phone, i mean if it is not stolen they can activate it for you, i once got an iPhone 3G from france (orange telecom), once the contract is over my uncle asked them to activate the phone, and it got activate, you will not need a sim card, it will be activated through iTunes when you plug it into your PC.
But check that your phone is not تهريب, otherwise you'll face serious problems.
Today i got an iPhone 4S deal, the owner thought it was iPhone 4, it was a swedish iPhone. it only needs an ultra s sim. I think it will be a good deal if i bought the phone for 450$ (4s/16gb).
There is a way but I'm trying to avoid it :P, you can factory unlock the iPhone from the swedish telecom for like 140$. but i guess that is what i will eventually do
@d3ad i think sn0wbreeze is not able to hactivate A5(i,e iPad2 and iPhone 4S)and A5X(i,e iPad 3).

Just select your country (sweden), and operator (telia), enter your imei. And see the price, i could not see the price though i haven't got a 4S.

It even does that on my iPhone 3gs, if it was not loaded with a custom firmware made with sn0wbreeze.
By the way i found a trick on youtube to bypass activation but you got to do it every time, you lock your iphone, you can use jailbreak.
Procedure: slide to unlock press the home button now press emergency call, now call 112 or 911 and while calling press the power button for 3 seconds until the slide to power off appears, now press cancel, now press return to call in green, and finally cancel the call, you're on your home screen.

Why don't you try to bypass activation and while you're on your home screen jailbreak with absinthe 2.0.4 google for it, though it offers a straight jailbreak no defy or whatever.

Yes. I have tried everything you guys said. I researched this problem really well before posting :p.
If i could only find a swedish micro sim *sigh*
@d3ad The latest redn0w supports straight jailbreaking(i,e backup and restore, NO DFU), ssame procedure as absinthe 2.0.4, and both tools the rocky racoon exploit. Absinthe is more straight forward, only for jailbreaking untethered no extras (boot tethered, custom firmware, or SHSH blobs...)
I wonder how you hactivated your co-worker's 4S. There's no official hacktivation for A5(X) devices, yet.

I doubt there ever will be. The jailbreaking community have really made no progress on the iPhone unlock since the iPhone 4 and even the activation.
