Is this a real software or just one custom-made for Lebanon? Are there are cheap copies of it somewhere or what?
Dolphin Fox Pro
Do you mean the accounting system Dolphin? If yes, this is made basically for the Lebanese market by a Lebanese company and there are some custom versions for the Arab countries.
and yes, there are some people out there who sell it for like 20% of the original price.

I'm not talking about pirated copies, I'm referring to affordable versions, so to speak. Something that doesn't necessarily have all the features, just the basic essentials.

there are two versions of dolphin, Junior and Senior .
Junior is cheaper but I don't know if it meets your consideration for being affordable ?!

dolphin is a very good software, it comes by modules, accounting/stock/production/payroll etc. made by software design but...it's more than 20 years old, so interface/interaction is not so user freindly
yes, it's a very good software. Easy backup process as well.dp0001 wrotedolphin is a very good software, it comes by modules, accounting/stock/production/payroll etc. made by software design but...it's more than 20 years old, so interface/interaction is not so user freindly
as for being user friendly, well, all lebanese accounting programs are coming from the ice age in terms of user interface
Alright, but just out of curiosity, are there pirated copies sold somewhere on the streets?
I don't know about pirated copies, but here's what I know:
Dolphin is an ERP system made by a Lebanese company. Today it exists in 2 forms:
- Senior: The one the company makes all its service business on. It costs a lot, mainly because of the high maintenance price.
- Junior: An off-the-shelf product that runs on one computer. You won't usually get support for it. Nabs, this one is probably the most suitable for your needs. Last time I checked (circa 2009) it costed around 300$.
Dolphin Fox Pro is a very old version of the software. It doesn't get updated anymore and only some very few old clients would still get support. The major difference is the use of FoxPro, a really old and now discontinued technology by Microsoft.

you can't find it on the streets. I bought a Senior pirated copy for 300$ and it works great for me.Nabs wroteAlright, but just out of curiosity, are there pirated copies sold somewhere on the streets?
