I sometimes used to have this problem, specifically with obtaining an IP address. The way I fixed that is by manually inputting an IP address for my PS3 and it works fine now. Have you tried that? For example, if you router's IP address in 192.168.1.1 you should set your PS3's IP address to something like 192.168.1.20 and under default router you would put 192.168.1.1. Check your dns as well and input the value.
how exactly can you do that?
I edited the post above and explained. Let me know if you need more details
so wait you are saying that under the ip address on the ps3 i should put a random number but under the default router i put that ip address that is usaully variable not the default gateway right?btw what do i put the 2 dns, primary and secondary?
actaully nevemind what i said obtaining the ip worked but everytime either the internet connection will fail or play station network fails.it depend whether i set the ip manaully or by pppoe username

If you look at the image I posted, you will see my router's info. Hopefully you have access to yours. On the page, you can see that my router is at 192.168.1.1. This means that your PS3 has to be on 192.168.1.x or 192.168.0.x or whatever range your router is at. You can see the subnet mask. You can also see the dns server that you can put in to DNS primary, ignore the secondary. Dont use pppoe username etc. This should fix your connection issues
