  • mac vs pc for a future programmer

hey all,

(i'm now searching before posting).
i'm going to study either software engineering or computer engineering in france, so i have to buy a new laptop to take it with me coz there electronics are expensive.

which one do you think it's better for programming stuff?
macs have xcode...that win don't have, but all windows have mac have.

for the major, do you think computer engineer have more opportunity to work?

If you are going to study in france I really advice you to buy your laptop there with the local warranty . You can get many educational discounts and you get an AZERTY keyboard . ( plus local warranty theft and accidental damage 7 euro / month )

It is very hard to write french reports with a QWERTY keyboard and if you want to work there lateron ,you will be provided an AZERTY keyboard from your company so start adapting now.

As for work, this field is one of the few that is still in high demand.

Mac or windows : I cannot advice,you can install windows on a mac ...

Mac vs PC will most likely lead to a flamewar. I would suggest you look into the different available text editors and IDE's to make you decision, although I don't think it's much of a deciding factor when it comes to choosing an OS.
