  • XGD3 - Unsupported Disc Error

Hello guys! I newly bought an Xbox 360 Slim (modded) so I have no idea to the type of mod (modchip/drive/softmod..) I'm using it offline , with no hard drive just internal memory and I updated the firmware once cause the kinect wouldn't run without it (the new dashboard). I bought a copy of Ghost Recon Future Soldier and played it for a while. The xbox's firmware updated to the latest one (2.0.15..) and Ghost Recon wouldn't run anymore (Unsupported Disc Error) other older games would (FIFA 12, METRO 2033, BLUR...). Any idea how can I solve this? Thanks in advance
it's really hard to tell given the situation

hmmm, i always wanted to write up a quick guide about this issue, but it would be useless since i don't have much to work with

Considering the chain of events, take it to Nino Stores - he will remod it, to LT3.0+ - you will also have to buy the backups reburned with an iHAS burner - As far as i can tell, Nino burns all his NEW games with it (i told him about an issue he had some month ago where his backups weren't working for some, dunno if he fixed it like i told him to)

It will cost you 50$ since it's your first time - i know it sucks, i would do it for you but i lack the hardware to do it, and shipping it to Lebanon will cost even more (that's if i can get it past customs)

Anyway, take it to him, and tell him the chain of events that happened - he'll know what to do.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah the situation is a bit tricky I guess, so I barely know what is wrong. The disc I bought is from Nino and I asked him if I could un-mod my Xbox if it is possible with the type of mod it has. Anyway, I'll check it up with him and I'll have it modded again. Thanks again for the tip :)

How can you not update it since it's mandatory to do so to play the game, I'm also been having an unsupported disk error (before I even updated it), is it because of the burned CD or of my Xbox?
I started running into this issue.

Basically speaking some XGD3 backups must be burned with the proper topology data for LT3.0+ (previous versions of LT do not need this or otherwise non-XGD3 games) to boot the game (im assuming the game can be seen from the dashboard but you can't actually load the game itself)

Nino is burning two types of XGD3 games. He calls the ones patched with the Topology data as "metro" versions for the sake of simplicity

Now if this error happens to you whilst playing the game (usually about 5 mins in) then the game was burned incorrectly or you tried installing it to the HDD and playing it - you can not install a XGD3 game and play it from the HDD if a burner other than a iHAS Lite-On is used. Unfortunately. You actually get a "invalid disc warning" and then the xbox shuts off.
There are bunch of xbox360 DVD coming from thailand that are badly burned
Thank you guys for your quick replies, I guess I'll have to ask the store owners if I can "test" the games and pay them if they work, again thank you guys, I was nearly going to flash it again
buy from Nino, and just before you buy a game that is a bit old, just mention that your console is 'Metro'
I can't buy from him, I live in Sour, Lebanon, so i'm obliged to buy from the local stores
