I got the same issue on my Ace. I type *#*#526#*#* and it reloads the driver (But I don't think work on any other phones because, the source I got it from said that it's only for Galaxy phones). But if you restart the phone the problem goes away.
The problem discussed on the One X is hardware related, wifi signal is very low and increases whenever you squeeze the screen
fuseless wroteAs some One X users have faced wifi issues (source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688538), I appreciate feedback from One X owners concerning this issue, whether they have the problem or not.

Also appreciate a feedback on the overall quality of the phone.

Thanks.
I bought my white HTC One X from UK about 2 months ago.
No problems so far. Wifi also good, I never squeeze it (picks my router, which is on 4th floor, even when I'm on street 1-2 buildings away). I rate it 5 stars without second thought.
Any other questions, please ask.

Maybe your router is good.
great thanks.

I will try to get it from france as in Lebanon, should i face the wifi problem, i will not be able to repare it through warranty (if i buy from amhaz) and i will have to pay loads if i buy from microage (+ the crappy aftersales service)

I have Zhone router from Terranet since 2009 I think. It's good so far.

I got it from UK for same reason. Paid about US$700 with 1 year warranty. No-warranty unit costs in UK about $500 (2 months ago). I have no idea about prices in Lebanon.
I have a One X from the delivery guy (elmazad) ZERO wifi problem, must say no problems at all in anything with this amazing phone
The sensation has the grip of death, if you hold it with your palm around it the WiFi signal will weaken , but using rubber covers the effect is minimal, maybe the same is happening with the ONE .
i don't have ONE but if the antenna is integrated with the battery cover like the sensation than it's the same problem.
although with my sensation the effect never happened.
Oh I forgot to mention that the HOX wifi reception is the best I saw on a smartphone, I can still receive signal where Sensation and iphone4s can't, about +15m in open wide areas and +1m indoor!
This phone is already WaW and many good things are coming like the 4.0.4 update which will boost speed and battery and the Jelly Bean roms (Nexus 7 is also Tegra 3)

Actually with the One X it's a reverse death grip.

The signal would be low to dead until you squeeze the phone in a specific location.

Check the xda-developers link in my initial post for info and videos.

I am not sure how spread this is and it stops me from buying one from Amhaz, due to lack of warranty.
@vegetaleb did you tested the difference on the same WIFI router and same spot ?
because my sensation works with TRENDnet WiFi router set on minimum power for 10m and there is like 3 walls in between (indoor).
Same routers in my house and in the sports club,I can say easily 1m gained indoors and 15-20m outdoors (no walls)
