Hey, I was wondering if it's possible to create a radio station online for free.
It's not for a business cause or anything.. Just for fun.. (Streaming music.. Talking on the radio..)
Is there a website I have to sign up and start streaming or I need to buy a server or whatever.. ?
Please, put in details what I have to do.
Thanks in advance Geeks.
Oh I forgot, whoever wanna join me, help me, or be my partner... Feel free to ask, I don't mind.
ziadomran, please make the effort of doing some research before posting. We are here to assist you, but you need to take the first step. You should at least google for a couple of minutes to find out what the different approaches might be. We would then gladly help you out choosing the most suited alternative depending on your constraints.
I did some researches.. Everything I could find is about making a website, or a paid account to some website.
All I asked for is simple instructions on how to build my own radio station, for free.
I set up a streaming server once, using nullsoft's software (shoutcast, I think). It was a great radio station and I was at the same time the administrator and sole listener. Of course, it was only accessible on the LAN, there was not enough bandwidth back then to make it public, annd we still have the same problem.
On the other hand, nowadays, a VPS (Virtual Private Server) can be obtained for relatively cheap ($20 a month or less), and in theory you could setup your radio station on one and it should work well. Of course you'll need to upload all your music to your VPS first. In fact it's a project I had but but I have higher priorities these days, like eating and watching stupid stuff on TV.
Regarding the regulations (specifically the Lebanese regulations) I have no intention to bother trying to following them.

you made my day!

The first result that I found by googling for "create free radio station" was a hosted solution (i.e., no need to build anything) that gave you a free account. Again, we are here to assist you, not do your work for you.
