Hi guys,
I need your own experience about tablets, performance reliability and prices (At Amhaz if possible), and we can make this topic the main about tablets by the way.
i want to buy tablet (gift) for my fiancee, so browsing and multimedia are in the first place.
rtp
maybe you should consider buying her an earring or something...
just an idea...
sorry but no clue about the tablet thingy
AvoK95
Right ok, tablets....
They're these big phones but without GSM on most of them. That's about it.
I would consider getting her an iPad or an Android tablet. Anything could be good for just web browsing and some games.

Well Google may be announcing the Nexus Tablet today at Google I/O. It supposedly has Tegra 3, so quad core CPU, GeForce ULP GPU, and 1GB of RAM. Comes with Android v4.1 Jellybean. It has a 7 inch LCD IPS display and has a 1280 x 800 resolution. Price...wait for it...200 (8GB) - 250 (16GB). Made to compete with the Amazon Kindle Fire.
rtp
adding on yasamoka, it might cost around $240 :)

Check
this to know my take on the iPad

A new iPad costs like 530$ at Amhaz's.
An iPad 2 costs 460$.
Those are 16GB-wifi only.

So, if the IPad 2 costs 460$ maybe i will go for it, but what about Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1", it is powerful ?
Beej
A 10 inch tab is big for a girl... Get the 7 or wait for nexus.
Guys question ice cream is different than jelly ( i will google it but i want ur take).
MrClass
nice review xterm, it sounded like an Apple ad :P

What is your fiancee mobile phone? (Smartphone or not, Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows, BB)
is she a tech savvy?
reason for these question, is because if she has an android, then go with an andriod, if she has an apple then go with the apple, heck there is even a bb tablet

Don't forget the Microsoft Surface coming soon ;)

Unless she's a little geeky, go for the most reliable choice and the one with the easiest interface and plenty of accessories, obviously the IPad. I am not apple fan myself, a happy galaxy s2 user, but i must say that IOS is just simpler to use and virtually trouble free.

I have the galaxy tab 10.1, very powerful indeed , don't know about the price, got it as a gift
but if your looking for something user friendly for your fiancee I advise you to go for the Ipad.

don't know about you guys but am dying to get the new Nexus 7 tablet (Nexus fan here !!),i think it's a good choice for you too,it's cheap and powerful (199$,quad core CPU,and 12 cores GPU) and a good battery (4325 mAh) also it fall in the "not too big,not too small" category with a 7" display so it should be easy to carry and more portable than 10" tablets.

For browsing and multimedia , the Nexus 7 can be the best at this low price. However, one should consider than the Nexus 7 tablet does not have a rear camera nor expandable storage ( comes with 8 or 16 only).

my fiancee's phone is Galaxy Ace, and mine is Evo 3D, so we are Android Fans, but the reputation of IPad 2 is very good as i see from your posts, so maybe i will go for an IPad 2. Even so, i will be always an Android Fan ;)

I just got the galaxy tab 2 7.0, but now that I've seen the N7, I'm starting to regret my decision. It sounds like a great tablet!
HooZ
I don't think the nexus 7 will be available in Lebanon for 200$
What do you guys say?
Metalloy
if she has the Ace then a galacy tab is not a bad choice, since same user interface.
about the nexus tab, it is not yet available, so i guess we wouldnt see it before at least a month or two, and the price will surely be higher, and let's not forget that it is made by asus, so there's a chance that availability in lebanon could be exclusive to R.O.G, so we have to refer to Tarek to see if he can provide us with an estimated price and wether he knows when it will be available or not.
