vegetaleb wroteI mean that in the whole world people are choosing Android over other phones because it offers way more opportunities.
Only in Lebanon because people follow a snob group that they buy iphones.
Lebanese are followers of Lebanese, technology has not its place here sadly
While I do understand that you're frustrated of Lebanese users buying iPhones, it's only because most do not know about other phones, other than iPhone. For example, if one wants to use Whatsapp, or Viber, there is absolutely no need to go straight to the top-end in phone spec and price (iPhone, disregarding Android high-ends now). A midrange Android phone will do. Those 900,000 activations per day are not necessarily high-end Androids, while all iPhone users do have a phone that was high-end at some point in time.
The problem is NOT related to the iPhone. The same happened with BB, now it's iPhone, and already having a "SAMSUNG GALAXY S2" is a fad. HECK, it's NOT the only Android phone!!
My point is that regardless of how good or bad a phone is, a fad is a fad. You cannot prove from the example, the general property. If all people are going to iPhone because they never heard of Android, then it doesn't mean iPhone is bad. Nor does it mean it's good.
However, some buy the iPhone purely for its capabilities after jailbreak. These are highly technical, obviously, and you cannot say that they are simply following a fad. Others leave it like it is, because well, they want the iPhone as it is.
Fruitless to compare the two head to head, I believe.
