  • Alfa / MTC national roaming

Check the new national roaming on Alfa's website, sounds interesting.

https://www.alfa.com.lb/roaming/nationalroaming.aspx

But I think it can only be used in very limited zones (shown in the map) so won't help in beirut where sometimes MTC has better coverage than Alfa and vice versa. what do you think?
And prepaid lines can't make calls or send sms :-/ ... while roaming.
Prepaid subscribers will not be able to benefit from the following:

Making calls & sending SMS (including 1456)
i think they're just trying to accommodate for failure in covering all areas in Lebanon with good reliable connection with the famous "bazi2 wlazi2" technique :-) .

instead of using of this fake roaming "service" they should use more or better BTS's and and give all of us the FULL services that we're paying for .
Does Alfa have the right to use MTC Touch's networks ?

you know its a monopoly right?
It's a mutual relation , the roaming is in both ways ALFA -> MTC and MTC->ALFA so they are sharing they're network resources , not a bad idea , but does the law allow them to do that especially that they are operators and they do not own the equipment unless it's a deal with the ministry of communications .

I don't think the MOC would make such a great decision :D
@AvoK95 let's pretend that they are :-)

but why a prepaid line can't make a call is that called roaming ?? is it a technical or finacial problem ?
because postpaid users can make a call .
maybe they are still testing the system.

Its called handover ... your call will be switched into different operator its as simple as that and its only done into specific areas unreachable by one of two operators.
@TheStunMan According to Wikipedia
the term handover or handoff refers to the process of transferring an ongoing call or data session from one channel connected to the core network to another
that is to say only switching to another time slot or adjacent frequency

in our case your phone have switched to another different operator , so its a new channel group far away from your operator frequency group of channels, we will see how the phones will handle that , i am sure they will drop any call your making/receiving when the "roaming" state occurs which is not the situation happening in a handover .

Indeed as you said :P

to add more info
If you’re on a call and move out of a x coverage area into y coverage area, an area where you require National Roaming, your call will drop out
