  • Roof water leakage solutions

Morning Fellas,
Does anyone has any experience/knowledge in treating roof leakage ? or even know someone who does this kind of job?
One of my relatives treats this kind of problems, if you're interested i'l PM you the details
Here's my experience:
I tried several cheap solutions such as bolly-bond... (not sure about the name)
In short, best cheap solution is asphalt rolls. Note you have to cover surface with liquid asphalt first.
You can buy them from paint shops. Ask around construction areas for someone who can set them on your roof.
I had to cover about 15 square m. I paid for 2 decent rolls plus worker $220 (last year).

did it work? or still there any leakage?
I have to cover almost 120 Square meters.
do you have an idea about other solutions (other than asphalt).
I heard that some ppl are treating these kind of problems by whetting the surface of the roof to the level of the iron then apply some materials over and over (which makes like a plastic layer).

Jinx, Yes Iam interested if he works in south of Lebanon
xerxes wrotedid it work? or still there any leakage?

Yes it's working, it's been good since then.
I tried applying several layers of plastic materials. They helped, but leakage never completely stopped until I applied asphalt rolls.
Extra tip: For best results, set asphalt rolls during hot sunny days.

Before I got asphalt rolls, some experienced people suggested I place plastic sheets then fill the surface with thick layer of gravel.
basically, the plastic will prevent leakage. And the gravel protects the plastic sheets from direct contact with rain and sunlight.
Asphalt rolls are the heavy duty, standard solution. I don't see why anyone would want to try something else.
AvoK95 wroteI use Silicon.
to cover an entire roof?
See if there is something else causing a leak like water puddling over the area. You may want to take care of that first before using asphalt or a concrete sealant (best long term solution IMO).
asphalt rolls are the solution , but even with those you are adviced to cover your entire roof
i live top floor and we put asphalt rolls about 10 years ago and never had a problem. If your worried about them absorbing heat, you can always paint them white which will also reflect the heat in summer, i don't know if they come in white shapes these days, so this might be another thing to do.
Thanks a lot guys, I think asphalt rolls it is.
