You said it, YOU had a drive motor bearing issue with a WD. I've had motor problems with a Hitachi, a board issue with a Seagate, another board issue with a Seagate laptop drive, and I've never tried Western Digital except this time, I went with the Caviar Black. Had my previous years been filled with WD drives, I would have most probably had trouble with them too. Seagate's prices for their top-tier 7200RPM drives is cheaper than others. A considerable amount cheaper. This may say something about quality, I don't know. I can't be sure, but it is a warning sign to me.
