Abbabbj
what is the part the you don't understand in the phrase:
porn is not sex
Abbabbj
and why to seek medical help for an addict if we could prevent addiction happening from the first place?
Nemesis-301
@Abbabbj what if you suggest to him to get a girlfriend? or at least have some friends from the opposite gender? maybe if he sits down and talks more to girls hewill no longer see them as sexual objects? I don't know, just an idea...

This shit will keep up forever.....
PORN != SEX. For some members here, PORN === SEX. Seriously some of you should seek medical help.
I first thought the old guys over (that have a family) will act like the wise ones. Turned out to be completely different.
Looking at some porn movies, especially the ones where you got the mom and the daughter in it or the dad fucking his daughter. Don't you fucking think that these type of videos will cause serious mental problem to the young child watching them. I'm not gonna lie, I sometime used to start imagining crazy things happening. Good thing that I stopped from all this shit.
Oh and I don't even give a shit about religion nor I am religious.
I repeat PORN != SEX.

Porn is not sex, of course it is not.
Does it involve erotism, yes.
Does it trigger mixed feelings, yes.
I am not talking about incest, animal things, etc.
You do have a lot of movies with a couple just going at it.
There are sick people out there, the solution is not to hide from them.
As many members explained here even the people who are against porn have been subject to it, they watched it, even the sickest movies and guess what they survived, they chose their path knowing there are sick twisted people not ignoring their existence.
Yes i am kind of old and i kinda have a family this is why i know the importance of making choices based on knowledge rather than ignorance.
Addiction is a serious thing and should be treated by a doctor. If you actually need the info please ask me via PM as i know one of the most respected addiction therapist in lebanon.
How can you prevent addiction to porn? Shut down the porn industry? What you are suggesting is just limiting the exposure but if he is an addict he ll find his fix elsewhere (his friends would have dvds or uncensored internet)

having a girlfriend or girl friends is good, but could be a little dangerous, since he still would be only thinking about sex and porn, and this might have bad influences on friendship and.relation ( well having sexual feeling toward your girlfriend, and or your girl friends is normal, it is.the.obsession about thats not healthy), so it is advisable if at first a male.friend.can.stay with, just like a moral backup...
now true solution is proper.sex education and being able.to.talk about, and limiting content is really helpful.

Abbabbj wrotesex is not a taboo
the boy is not religious neither his family he is depressed from the scenes of whipping or electrifying females...
parents and children should talk about sex 100% true
PORN is not SEX
porn has nothing to do with masturbation it causes it to happen more than normal
@babum: tell me what is the negative effect of limiting porn? maybe it is not the final solution but it have a role
The negative effect as other members said is that you only worsen the situation rather than making it better.
As for the boy, I tried to give an image of a common scenario, however I cannot judge him because I simply don't know him. As for the specific scenes you name, well I have been watching porn for a while and don't think I ever stumbled upon electrifying females, maybe whipping but I just closed it (I do consider it disgusting).
true that Porn is not sex, but is the closest window there is for sexual alleviation. But we can both agree that communication is the way to go at the situation, right?

Showing the individual -in a rational way- that there's something in this life more important than porn or sex may help to stop addiction or even deny it to happen.

Haven't read all posts, but here's what I think:
During my 1 year employment in KSA, I realized that government's decision to block porn and (sometimes) pursue people who try to circumvent their measures, does influence interests.
For instance, anime in KSA is insanely popular; most people I knew there watched anime, they have ridiculous number of fan-subber groups online who subtitle jap anime in arabic.
That's just my opinion.

You are all missing one point, whether porn equals sex or doesn't, it will still be the same for a 16 years old unless he is taught otherwise. Not to mention there is no perfect censorship tool, it will either have a lot of false positives or it will miss out on some of the porn pages. Making it more of a pain than a real solution. Besides, the guy has friends, which he might end up borrowing porn from them. Did it solve anything? Nope.
How to solve this? As i mentioned before and obviously nobody bothered with it..... DIVERT THEIR ATTENTION TOWARD SOMETHING ELSE!!!!

Nemesis-301 wrotealso from my religious point of view "Thy shalt NOT commit adultery"-exodus 20:14
Please no religion simply because anything we read in a religious book is simply orders and statements that have no proof, nor scientific backup nor anything just orders from people who lived thousands of years ago who we don't know who they are and from where. Its all about brainwashing fairy tales in my opinion. If there is something that f**d up this world it would be religion(any kind of it not talking about a single one) especially when you start having extremism.
And yeah I will be going to burn in hell, with all those hot chicks, stars and super models for the rest of eternity! :P
Btw I love controversial topics from time to time on the forum, thanks for keeping the thread alive.

Anything addictive should be blocked following this rule you should ban hamburgers becaUse kids are fat i could jump of a bridge should we make bridges illegal nerf the world

Parents and the community have a responsibility to teach kids (to be kind) about the birds and bees; however, in many societies, the subject is taboo and kids being kids, look for other ways to learn. You can't get the government involved to require ISP's to put in filters, because you don't know what will be filtered next.

absofrickenlutely--build athletic facilities like soccer fields, basketball and tennis court and more public pools as well as more public parks, etc. If you don't give people something to do, they will find something else less constructive, and probably more destructive.

I am not going to argue whether porn is good or bad. I just want to say I personally believe that there is no such thing as porn addiction. It is my personal opinion, and if there is, then I think the term addiction (as much as the psychological terms such as schizophrenia etc.) tend to be overused, in which case it will have the opposite effect on the person targeted, that is reduce his self confidence and create additional problems that he surely does not need.
Regardless, one should be not ashamed to talk about it either (and slapping the term "addiction" on it does not help much in this regards) and as you said legally it is not for less then 18 years old - although this law is blindly copied from more developed societies, specifically the US, which have their own system of beliefs and which is a very different society then here.
Anyway, I will concede that things are better left the way they are, and am not opposed to turning parental control ON by default, yet I think the customer should be warned during installation so that he can ask for it to be activated, and will not have the (somewhat bad) surprise of realizing that his internet browsing is filtered without him knowing.

that is one lame of a solution
why don't we lock them in rooms so they don't know or hear about porn!

Having read most of the posts, i think it is true that DIVERTING THEIR ATTENTION TOWARD SOMETHING ELSE is correct. Whenever you engage some teen in a series of activities for example hanging out with friends rather than sitting on the internet watching porn gives this person from my point of view a plus in his maturity. The teen involved in this topic seems somehow ( from my point of view) introvert shy person and that is a mistake in raising kids . Maybe the teen is not mature much for his age even if he is intelligent and smart and.. Please correct me if im wrong. Im 17 and i never passed through the teen's experience. Hope someone will find him a solution to overcome his fears.

It depends on what the teen experience is. If it is like in the movies then nope, I don' think anybody did.

babum wroteI don' think anybody did.
What i mean is that for example when guys say a joke like e@t it and the list goes, a regular 15-16 year old boy who knows about sex and is aware of it should be somehow familiar with these in a society like ours. If the teen reacts in an abnormal way for things like that, i think this shows the problem has been carrying on since years .

My bad, I don't quite understand what you are saying. Do you mean that a person exposed to porn will become shy and introvert and a person who is not exposed to sex will not participate in the jokes?
