  • [wanted] Headphones for $50

I have these. I find that they're good, for what they are. Got them from RadioShack (I think).
EDIT: Actually, these are the ones that I have, but I bet that they're pretty close anyway.
TPR0 wroteTo clarify things up, Audiophiles love flat EQ, What beats does is pinching the BASS and the Treble while leaving the mid (where mid is the most freq. noticable to the ear)
This is true. All cheap headphones will have that frequency response.
TPR0 wroteSo to sum up, get Flat Headphones + Flat freqeuncy response
Those typically cost several hundred dollars and are obviously beyond OP's budget. You will NOT find true flat-EQ headphones below $100, not in Lebanon or anywhere else.

I <3 Bass

Can you recommend an alternative to Beats that provide the same quality of Bass for lesser cost?
Velodyne vPulse = $89 (seems bit expensive, but its a company since 1930's, and its the first one to make subwoofers for the public)

And they are the only earphones Velodyne has till now, i know this might sound not satisfying, but its a grade C audiophile grade according to some reviewers, even though Gr.C = 200+ bux and )

The worst criteria is 'Local shopping in Lebanon' = limit

I don't think you might find one of these, if yes, it would be like 200 bux, you know Lebanon...
Actually i still prefer SN's, even though im like you, luv BASS. Im an 80's listener, and they have a very slight bass due to the 16 bit studio recording. But its too bass\y for me for todays music hehe (over saturated gain records = distortion)

I'm also confused about buying 300 bux headphones to use them outdoors. Audiophile quality + outdoor specs (price, ex:losing them) = hard decision , so considering 100 bux is the MAX for outdoor usage.

Also, you should take a note to the enviroment isolation... You love bass, you should get low frequency isloator ear pieces. (vPulse material does this job) So no exterior bass interference into your ears like indoor car...

Velodyne vPulse is the best choice for me, 5 Hz bass haha
@TPR0: I believe xterm is talking about headphones, not earbuds or IEMs. No earphone is going to come close to bassy headphones in terms of bass. Velodyne vPulse may be rated to go to 5Hz, but you cannot hear below 20Hz, so don't bother.

What do you mean by SN? Sennheiser?

@xterm: Basically, if you want good headphones, you have Sennheiser HD485 and HD558. The HD558 is $160 and the HD485 is about $80-90. HD558 is somewhat more refined with soundstage, mids, and highs. On the other hand, the HD485 has more bass (perceptibly more). I have tried both. Both are fantastic.

I have the HD485 and I couldn't recommend them enough. They are fantastic for their price. (But be sure to pair them with a good soundcard if possible. If you're running them from a portable MP3 player, then it's fine. They do not have high impedance, meaning they can be easily driven).

If you want earphones, then yes, as TPR0 said, Velodyne vPulse, or if you prefer earbuds, Yuin OK2/3 ($130 / $60). These are earbuds that have bass! (Earbuds do not go into the ear canal).

Once you try ANY of the products mentioneed above, you would realize that even the high end Beats models are lacking in everything other than bass. I have tried them. I get disgusted quickly when things don't sound right, or sound muffled. There is no soundstage, mids, highs, things sound canned.

HD485, vPulse, Yuin OK2 are all gear that you will find a fantastic bargain since these offer high audio quality per price. The HD485's are among the best in their price range. So are the vPulse and the OK2 (there is no earbud except the Audio Technica CM700 to compete with the OK2 at its price range).

Oh and by the way: xterm, you are welcome to try the HD485's and the Yuin OK2 (I have both) if you want to meet somewhere. I can probably borrow the HD558's too.
Sorry for a bit off topic, Can you recommend any decent Bluetooth Headphones/earphones which would produce quality sound ?
d3ad wroteSorry for a bit off topic, Can you recommend any decent Bluetooth Headphones/earphones which would produce quality sound ?
Do you mean by Bluetooth that it uses Bluetooth or do you mean wireless in general?
Yep, sorry for the mistake...

And yes Yasamoka is right. And yeah, I can't spell that s'e'nn'h'es'er Sennheiser?

But i was into more depth about Earphone, or canal model in terms of isolation. At least low frequencies, thats why earphones are better bit better than headphones in terms of outdoors, even with Active Noise Cancellation (head phones), ANC is only made for mid-high ondemand frequency isoloation using mics. Still, they won't isolate Bass.

Beats headphones amplify bass which is wrong. You should isolate interior bass. So, when you reach bit flat fq resp. You won't complain about 'can't hear the bass, or treble is a way too high, mid noisy'. I just noticed this, at night when electricity is off, too quiet, listening to 1 bar volume with cheap earphones, or no bass earphones, I feel like its premium..
Plus, you should also care about the audio source.

Sticking with PMPs is the best, even some mobile phones. I would be surprised if anyone uses high end headphones with a BB, since BB has an opposite smile curve frequency response, especially the Bold series...

Using Bluetooth head/earphones is also a nice idea if you do not want to upgrade etc mobile phone...
Since it processes its own Analog specified for its pair. And getting (pure no load signals) digital from the phone, etc... (Just like external DACs)

You might like Sansa Clip player with low range ear/headphones, and sounds more astounding than mid range headphones with cheap output.

You should always consider the source...

I mean one that uses Bluetooth,
the only one i could find with good rating was Motorolla s9 which i checked at Class. the had one last unit, but it was opened and used for testing etc so i didn't take it. Hoping to find it on Dubai Duty free on my way to home for holidays ;)
