When i plug my ps3 directly into my modem and turn off the router i still dont get Nat Type 1, also when i connect wirelessly i still get a moderate nat type 2. i called ogero and they said there has to be something wrong with my home network because they have no restrictions on Nat type. i tried putting the ps3 in dmz mode, i tried enabling qos, i tried enabling and disabling upnp, i also tried creating a firewall exception for my ps3s ip with no luck. i have a 4mbps DSL connection from ogero and a d-link dir-600 router, also the game im talking about is cod mw3. id really appreciate any feedback because its really frustrating.thanks

ps: i get no lag while playing, and no problems joining games, i just want to figure out if anything is wrong.
My opinion, enjoy what you already have.
I had good latency with my 2Mbps VISP connection...But I got greedy. So I tampered with my router so much (DMZ, Upnp, port forwarding, etc...) that in the end, I couldn't sign in into PSN anymore.

Bottom line...Joud bel mawjoud. Because whatever limitations you have, they can't be solved on your side of the connection.
NAT Type may show 2 but in CoD it says strict.. I called Ogero the other day and made the guy unblock every port mentioned on every forum i could find.. no success.. I too am stumped. :| @cullinan86 it's not really that great, you can't host games can only join by spamming the join button and crossing your fingers..

Why not?

@OP: Did you try port forwarding for the specific ports MW3 uses? You could check those online. Then check out http://www.portforward.com.
no i did not try forwarding the mw3 ports but if the ps3 is in dmz mode i dont think it matters. im gonna call ogero again tomorrow and ask if one of their technicians can pass by and take a look at my setup. if anyone knows more about the subject please do share because it seems that many people share the same problem.

I'v already explained CoD's issue with NAT type and Thompson modems

Generally speaking, you must forward ports on the Modem ONE AT A TIME

Ever since i have done that, i have open NAT with all CoD games

As per topic, i tried many things, and never achieved NAT type 1, NAT type 2 however is just fine; NAT type 3 would be a problem.
2 months later
Since im getting a moderate NAT type in MW3 on the ps3, ive been trying to forward the ports the game uses, as well as some of the ports that psn uses. i have a 4mbps connection from ogero and a d-link dir-600 router. ive tried literally everything, from dmz to forwarding every port, but every time i check if the ports are open, it says the ports are closed. can someone please explain to me if my setup is flawed or if the problem is from ogero, what i mean to say is, do ogero block these ports or am i doing anything wrong. i really would appreciate some help, because this is becoming terribly frustrating.
