babum wroteFor home user solutions, I guess firms just need to be smarter. Personally I believe the gaming industry played it nice with online feature of most games. that way if you want the real experience of the game you must buy the original.
Game Developers are getting greedy, they want to tap the reseller market (making profit from selling used games), like gamestop in the states which makes majority of its profit from reselling used games. one method is what developers of battlefield 3 did, there is a code on the disk box that let you play multiplayer for only 1 user and it is not transferable, if you want to add more users you have to pay $10 more.
also you can experience the REAL experience of the game with out buying the original, but more of a hassle.
also if you work at a firm, you would notice that prices of software for companies are cheaper (per unit) than homes, since they are buying more quantities (I can only speak for Microsoft Products and Antiviruses)
