The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 GPU will be available in limited quantities starting May 3, 2012, with wider availability by May 7, 2012 from NVIDIA's add-in card partners, including ASUS, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Inno3D, MSI, Palit and Zotac. Expected pricing is $999.

Note, All 28nm Based Gpu's are Produced in Limited Numbers due to 28nm Production Cost Problems thus, TSMC ringed the alarm of both companies concerning the the Huge Demand / Limited Production Numbers and sadly both are looking for New Foundries.

Edit: "Huge Demands" The number of 28nm customers are more than double when compared to their 40nm counterparts.

Hopefully 28nm won't be killed before it's even launched we still have Nvidia 78XX Series A.K.A "GK110 / 112".

im not so sure about that. there was a few supply shortage at the launch of the 680 but now you can easily find it in most shops.
same thing for the amd 7 series.

Mate it's true, the production is limited and TSMC not happy & i have lot's of postponed order on the ASUS GTX 680 Ref. due to the Unavailability issue.

For Example: It's out of stock at "Newegg" for more than 2 Weeks now.
