  • Downgrade after Windows Anytime upgrade

My netbook comes with Windows 7 Starter. I got a genuine Home Premium CD-Key which I "borrowed" from an HP laptop.
So I used that key to update my Starter to a Home Premium , but unfortunately AFTER the upgrade it rejected my key to activate Windows.

How can I downgrade back to Windows 7 Starter from Home Premium ?

The person who can answer will get a free Oreo :D
Honestly speaking, last i checked you cant. You have to reinstall windows.

Now as for the original windows 7 starters key, most probably you wont lose it. If you re-use it it will work normally.

So just activate it as trial and try to reinstall from the beginning.

in any way good luck

LOL, and you say it as if it's THAT easy.
I want to find a way without re-installing Windows
ibxoful wrotedid it come with the windows 7 starter cd ? If not
It's a netbook. Also, none of the laptops nowadays come with disks. They usually comes with a hidden partition in the hard drive for a recovery.
Can system restore do the job?

I know that you are aiming for a non format solution man. What i am telling you is there is no way to downgrade other than reinstalling.

No. System restore wont do any good.
AvoK95, is your only problem with the upgraded Windows that it requires activation? Because that can be easily solved. I'm afraid I am yet to run into a downgrade solution yet, doubt that it's possible. Officially speaking, Microsoft doesn't allow it. Unofficially, haven't seen anyone do it yet.
