I have 2 PCE UPS on my computer, one for my screen and router, and the other for my desktop. anyway it is installed in my bedroom and any time electricity goes away they start beeping very loudly and dead people rise :P

I want someway to remove this beeper if it is possible. can it be done? is it a piece of hardware in the UPS that I can find? please help
Usually it is like this

Open it, if you find it, post photo here, hardware guys will advice if it is right. Then carefully remove it.
Before that make sure battery disconnected and dont touch other circuits, you can burn your ups, or you can get electrical shock.

I did it with my UPS (removed this part), and it is silent now.
thanks that's helpful, at least we know it can be done.
Now to figure out how to open it
I tried to open the UPS on my router, the top of the UPS does not split from its bottom after screws are removed because there are wires linking them, so I could barely see inside, but I did not see a black box like this. there was like a big blue box and then behind it a transparent one, none of them seemed removable and there are a lot of wires connecting everything to everything
Most cathartic solution:

PS: Yes, just open it, find the buzzer and disconnect it. Have done it before myself. Make sure the buzzer power cable are kept separated and isolated.

PS2: Be very careful there is a danger of electrocution even when the UPS is disconnected, do not touch anything inside the UPS when open. If you're the clumsy, accident-prone type better not do it yourself.
put a big magnet beside the speaker, and that should knock it off for good.

Speaking of which, today when i got to my home, i heared my ups beeping from the 3rd floor! I was surprised to say the least.

ROLF, do you mind lend me that sludge hammer? Or should i chuck roundhouse kick my ups and call it a day.
Thank you it worked. the thingy was attached to the electronic plaque. I had thought it would be directly linked to wires. anyway finally I can sleep. thanks
you have to be really careful pulling it off, else you might damage the motherboard traces, i say just fill some wool or tissue in it then close stick some tape on it to reduce the sound greatly, thats what i did on mine
Or to decrease its volume if you want just put a few silicon on the head of the buzzer like i did now you have a silent buzzer without removing it to prevent possible damage to your UPS
soldering a resistor works too
