two days ago the website of lgu is also hacked by a Turkish guy, it now seems to be online again... but i'm not surprised by the number of websites hacked... you see, you cannot get a certificate in server administration or ethical hacking in lebanon, besides the lebanese universities focus too much on the .net framework ignoring other languages. what result do you expect? i expect programmers who don't know anything about servers, i expect lebanese companies paying a lot of money for hosting companies to manage the servers, the microsoft servers are always more expensive than linux and i expect programmers who don't know what to do to protect the site from being hacked.

if a lebanese programmer wants to learn ethical hacking he should count on google not on his university, which is a shame!

but i blame the lebanese companies first, because we don't have server rooms in lebanon, companies host websites somewhere else in the world lol so they don't see the need for a server admin or ethical hacker.... they trust the companies to secure the servers, besides many lebanese programmers are stupid coz i've seen several sites that can be hacked with an sql injection... what a shame!

I have just heard that the hackers have been found, identified and will be reported. Based on a Lebanese company that seems to be specialized in information security, Facebook page update:

Sync
Sync Found the hackers behind the 16 Lebanese websites defacement.
Found their home, found their identity! ;) And going to be reported by today.

it doesn't take professional security guys to hack websites created by some kids, you can do it, and everyone around here can do it in 5m if you are bored and want to have some fun

this site http://www.lgu.edu.lb/ was hacked 2 days ago by a turkish guy who wanted to have some fun

scroll over the slide show guys you see "Incorrect copyright " click on that, it's take you to http://deluxe-menu.com/ a software that creates js menus. WHAT A SHAME... WHAT A SHAAAAAAAAAAME... the development team, needs a SPECIAL SOFTWARE to create these stuff! what do you expect from a developer that lives and dies by dreamweaver and wysiwyg editors?

I tried to contact this government agencies, over various channels, to offer them secure hosting (same price as they have shared hosting now)...

It seems to me like a simple PR stunt. Plus no one can really verify their claims, if they only share their findings with tech-illiterate government officials.

I just hope no innocent will be harmed over this...

I think this "Sync" game is almost a lie... Unless they have some proofs which i doubt.

Also i doubt it's their real addresses, why the heck will they bring down 16 governments websites without even thinking of changing their IP at least by using a proxy or a VPN.
