Ok so recently my Facebook has started to freeze most of the time when I go on it, i'm not sure what the problem is because I have been using it for probably a few years now on the same laptop and i've never had any problems with it before until recently.
my mouse doesn't freeze on it, just facebook so it won't let me click on anything until i close the window and open a new one starting again.

Anyone has the same problem? What are your solutions?
how many extensions do you have? what is your os? and what chrome version are you using? how many times did you face this issue? is it freezing on facebook only? is it freezing on flash apps or on any facebook page? does it tell you to kill the page? please answer these questions sir
try clearing ur cache
sometimes this isn't enough, this issue happened to me when i was on xp, and it happened because xp sucks, it is so slow, and the programs installed used so much cpu, and because i installed so many extensions, that's why i asked him these questions... besides many people don't know how to update chrome version

4 extension (url shortener, kaspersky advisor and virtual keyboard, adblock)
Windows 7 Ultimate
Chrome v.18
Several times a day
Only Facebook, not a specific page on it, it could be a profile viewing, or on the home.
And yes it tells me to kill the page.

Tried clearing the cache but it didn't fix the issue!
Chrome auto updates by itself unless he disabled it.

it doesn't update automatically on my xp and the option is still on, i have to go to "about google chrome"

Check whether you need a new browser user profile.

If you see this error message repeatedly, your browser user profile may be corrupted. First try moving the Default subfolder from your User Data folder to see if that fixes the problem:

Go to Start menu > Run.
Enter one of the following directories in the text field, depending on your operating system:
Windows

Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data[/quote]
No this is not the error that I receive! Try rereading my first post
yes i know but try this solution, it does not hurt, it only creates a new profile. who knows it might work.
I've seen this happen to number of clients of mine. It turned out to be Flash player issue with every one of them. It was damaged, and every time something Flash-related was on facebook, it froze. Try checking that out, maybe it's the same thing.
I have had the same thing happening to me--glad I am not the only one. One thing that may help is for you to check how many versions of flash player you have in Chrome. I had another flash related issue a while back and one thing that was recommended was to look at your plugins and disable and uninstall all flash versions around and try re-installing flash again.

I am now understanding Apple's decision about flash.

Edit: Want to add, I don't have any problems when I use hotspot shield to connect--with the problems connection to the PS3 network, it could be local DNS issues causing facebook and other flash happy pages to freeze.
<admin edit: please don't hijack the thread>
my edit: all i did is posing a series of questions to express my doubts about flash causing this problem, each question posed an argument...if you call that thread hijacking, well that's your forum, i play by your rules, but i wont be answering any questions here anymore, nothing personal admin... I don't hate the player, I hate the game...
First of all, Google Chrome doesn't update by itself automatically. Unless you have downloaded it straight from chrome.google.com Which no one does because they rather download it from Filehippo or other third party website which provides an offline installer. So it does not update on its own. I suggest that you uninstall it and re-download it straight from Google in order to get the latest updates when they are available.
Second of all Facebook would freeze most likely from Java. But under Chrome the Shockwave and Flashplayer often crash (Don't know why) So I suggest you update those as well.
Also try clearing your cookies/browsing history/cache ect.

actually it does and i have downloaded the standalone version "https://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?standalone=1&hl=en" and it adds a task in your pc to download the patch automatically everytime you login via taskschd.msc (aka task scheduler) this certain method is only found in vista and 7. Which is not supported by xp

As I said, it does update if you download it from the official Google Chrome page (Which you have) and does NOT update if you downloaded it from a third party website (Such as FileHippo).
Same problem am facing it and it seems a flash problem ...
I forgot to mention to check your time and make sure that it's correct on your PC.
Final solution : update to Chrome 18.0.1025.162 and you will no longer experience freezes or hangs
