Since nothing seems to be wrong in the drive internally, as it is basically an internal HDD which is connected to a SATA to USB and a SATA to FireWire adapter, my guess would be that the converter is loose / defective. Maybe you could try to check that out?
darkredbbb wroteI think you're right. I'm still using USB and both FW800 look like the ones that got damaged. I'll look into taking the drive to a technician to fix the adapters.
Actually, I recommend you fix it yourself.
By the way, both FireWire ports are not working because it is most probably a FireWire port multiplier that is used after the SATA to FireWire adapter. Thus, when that adapter is broken, the multiplier is disconnected.
