  • best gaming laptop (less than 1300$)

sorry for the late reply ! i won't pay over 1300$ for a laptop so i can't buy an asus gaming laptop .
i found a lenovo IdeaPad Y570 (08622KU) Intel Core i7 2630QM(2.00GHz) 15.6" 8GB Memory DDR3 1333mhz 750GB HDD 5400rpm DVD R/RW NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M 1Gb dedicated. i think it's pretty good. it's only 1220$.

Lenovo is formally known as IBM so no doubts about your purchased , you can't go wrong with Lenovo or Asus.
For $1300, you can build a gaming PC AND buy a regular laptop. The PC will smoke a gaming laptop and you'll still have a laptop for regular use.

I am not sure if that is something you might consider, but dropping $1300 on a "gaming laptop" is too much in my opinion.

If he gets a net-book for example which costs about 300$ and is a bare minimum when buying a laptop , he will have only 1000$ for the case, motherboard, ram HDD , GPU , CPU , DVD RW , LED screan , UPS ...ect.. so a 1000$ budget is not good enough for a decent gaming desktop PC.

So whether he invests 1300$ on a laptop or 1000$ on a desktop and 300$ for a net-book , it will be more bang for the buck if he gets a notebook/semi-gaming notebook instead. Also the notebook which he has chosen seems good enough for gaming with a GT555M , even though I would recommend waiting for the 6xx series, it's still pretty good.
Mate who said that there's no ASUS laptop for 1300$ or even less?? i can get you one for 900$ & it can run games smoothly thus, maintaining your FPS on a playable level on any game.
i know you'll argue about the Processing powah, remember 1 thing the Mobility "i7 comes in 2 Cores 4Threads" that means there's no advantage yet it's pointless to pay anything above 1K for a Notebook.

Maintaining FPS on a playable level at what level of detail? I don't think the OP just wants to run those games. I think he would like to jack up the level of detail. Now I know this is difficult with mid-range laptops sometimes, but nevertheless we should provide him with insight on how "playable" games are.

As you can see, there's quite a huge gap between the OP's budget ($1300) and the ASUS laptops on offer below $1300 ($850-900). I am sure those extra $400 he's willing to pay would get him a HUGE upgrade in terms of specs. A dual core Sandy Bridge Intel CPU (Core i3 / i5 / i7 2xxx) at a good clockspeed and a midrange mobility GPU.
Ramzi mate, Jacking up the Level of Details means a 560m and above, we all know that Mobility Based Gpu's are Underclocked thus, all of them struggles on High Resolutions "1920 x 1080" I'm talking about the Average FPS in here which lies between the 25 / 30FPS those are the Playable Levels on any game.
in other words 540m, 550m, 555m, 560m are almost identical only fractions separate them but even those fractions aren't noticeable in real world performance but they does in real world budget ;).

Concerning the i7 Mobility Part, well let's face it lot's of people are mistaken when they thought that these Chips are Relatively Similar to their Desktops Counterparts well they don't, i7 Mobility comes as "2 Cores 4 Threads Chips" that means they are relatively similar to the 2 Cores 2 Threads Chips...!!! one thing distinguishes Mobility Gaming Platforms from their other counterparts is the "Gpu" in other words you can get an i3 or AMD's APU Chips with a Mid Range Dedicated Gpu thus, you still can run any game.

Concerning the Gap, well the above mentioned ASUS APU models are posted due to what "Imadz" said above |i won't pay over 1300$ for a laptop so i can't buy an asus gaming laptop| that means there's lot's of ASUS Notebook's with Mid Range Gpu's under the 1000$ Range.

check it out yourself cuz typing on my s2 is a real pain
it has best radeon gpu on market which is probably the best current generation mobile graphics card

Hey guys, I have the Asus N56VZ, bought it for 1168$ in the emirates, so I don't know what the price here will be. But its a great laptop, great battery life. I'm really happy with it. Playing Far Cry 3 in high graphics without lag. and I can play any game I want on it. (it has a i7 3610QM 2.30Ghz can go up to 3.3Ghz, Nvidia 650M 2GB, 8Gb ram, 1TB HDD@7200RMP I think, 15.6", B&O speakers, full size keyboard, and looks like a mac)

Yup, and I have a portable Bass (SonicMaster) for the low frequencies so the sound from the laptop is really nice.

I don't recommend buying a used laptop. You could get an Asus g55vw.

No shop in the WORLD would buy a used laptop for a decent price. When they hear you say you want to sell your laptop, all they do is try to make more profit and buy it for about 100-150 or max 200 dollars.
You'd be better off selling it on Elmazad Your laptop is really old. You'd be lucky if you get it sold for 200 dollars or less.


As for the gaming laptop. I suggest you go for a desktop. Unless you absolutely need portability and don't care about much about raw performance, expendability, and reliability and of course being able to upgrade it in the future.
If you buy a laptop, it won't be able to game good enough games in few years. Also, laptop parts are far less powerful then desktop parts. For example a GTX580M has the same performance as a GTX560Ti. That's 2 steps below.

But you insist on portability, then I suggest getting this:
Toshiba Satellite L830-B358 Intel Core i5-3317U 6GB Ram 640GB HDD DVDRW Slim 13.3" LED LAN, WIFI/BT HD7750M 1GB
up to 4.8GB Cam/Windows 8 64-bit $945.00

I know it's small but it has the best graphics card and costs below $1600. Oh, and VAT and shipping needs to be added, so that's $1039.

It must not be HP. HP gives you the best bang for your buck, but the overheating issues are a constant pain to live with.
It can be paid for in monthly installments (with interest) or in one big payment (no interest); either way, the laptop must be physically present for me to check out.
In decreasing order of priority: Graphics Card > RAMs > Processing Power (more particularly, heat emission. A little less power for a lot less heat would be perfect) >Screen Size.

HP's were like that. But newer models are good. Besides, no matter how much money you put, it will never last you more than 5 years anyway. It has reached to a point where brands don't matter anymore.

First part has no meaning. How else are you going to pay it ?.
Second part, you can choose any laptop, and then check them out at places like Khoury Home. The reason why good laptops aren't available to check out, is because they come factory sealed. If you open the box, it looses its value.
