And it's down again. This time the message on the answering machine for 1515 says it will take 3 hours. Seems there's some serious problem.

Yeah, I'm experiencing the same connection problems that you are having during the same time period. I hope it's related to improving the network, and not just some regular maintenance.

How can burning waste affect phone lines that are supposed to be underground.
Anyway I don't think it's related to any upgrades (although I wish it were).
Someone who works at ogero told me it's a problem on a national scale.

In the past 3 days I've been losing connectivity everyday for about 3 hours each downtime and it's happening for the entire region not just me. I live in Bekaa and we neither have Sukleen or any waste problems here so what does burning garbage has to do ?

i am subscribed to a broadband provider, not Ogero DSL, and i had similar problems in the past few days, and today also

Sounds like the it director have a lot to do,that's why it's taking so much time(it director does the line testing I guess).

I have been using Ogero DSL services for 1 year - Plan: 6 to 8 Mbps Download 2 Mbps Upload / 60 GB Capacity Cap. On Peak Times my Ping is 32ms , Download 2.13 Mbps and Upload 0.37 Mbps which I consider it is still good relative to our average network infrastructure in Lebanon.

you're paying for 6 to 8mb and you're getting 2mb down and 0.37mb.... not good why not go for 2mb unlimited?

Nope not at all(i am using 2mb unlimited plan and use it heavily to download (like 200gb a month sometimes 350gb a month!))

That's great . I think it's they're the only isp not using FUP which gives them an advantage.
But still their plans aren't really flexible.
