Kareem OK guys so I have a laptop at work, I am connected to the internet through ethernet cable ( intranet + http proxy ) but where everything is blocked except port 80 ( ie: telnet / ftp / ssh etc.. ) and at the same time connected to the WiFi router at work where everything is allowed ( torrents, online gaming, voip, WLM webcam etc.. so no restriction at all ) Ethernet connection is 25mbps and Wifi connection is 8mbps My question is: Since I need to be connected to the intranet to access my e-mails and stuff, the only way I can connect to my external FTP server is to disconnect from LAN and keep the WiFi ON; that way all applications will use the wireless. Once I plug in the ethernet cable, altho WiFi remains ON, all applications using wireless network disconnect. Is there any way to assign application to network adapter ?
julien_saadeh If possible, check your ethernet IP and set it manually, leaving Gateway and DNS IPs empty. Use the same IP that is automatically assigned to you.
rolf You're running windows, right? You could route the LAN subnet through ethernet, and all the rest through wifi. Try running the "route" command from the command prompt (i'm not eve sure it exists in windows - but there must be a routing table).
Vartan I used to use a router that has 2 inputs, got it from usa. i used to have wise and another local network so in the settings i choose to use 50-50 at the same time. in case this helps contact me by PM it's for sale and i don't need it.
d3ad as rolf said: in command pormpt: do a Route Print (Persistent Routes: should be none) Route add x.x.0.0 mask 255.255.255.0 x.x.x.x (where x.x.0.0 means the intranet network and x.x.x.x you intranet gateway) you can delete it by replacing ADD with Delete with everything else same in the above command.
