  • Galaxy s2 ics 4.03 update in Lebanon

yeah its been rolling out for almost 5 days now, almost all Europe and parts of asia got it, i've been checking the OTA in the settings from time to time with no luck, and its the same story with kies.
so anyone in Lebanon got it ? yes i know its super easy to get it with flashing, but my phone is still on warranty and i'd like to keep it that way.
Samsung should hurry up, i want that 4400 score in quadrant.
i dont think we'll ever get it officialy in leb.
We already had the 2.3.4 and the 2.3.5 we are going to get it, the question is when.
Metalloy wrotei dont think we'll ever get it officialy in leb.
There is absolutely no restrictions, except official declared ones, concerning region. VPNs, proxies, etc...could be easily used. Yes you will have to root (WITHOUT increasing the flash counter and voiding your warranty, yes it's possible), but it can be done.
samsung should hurry up, i hope the update comes over the air, and not with the stupid, buggy, kies
i just checked the samsung fb page, and someone said that he updated with kies, but i don't think he's lebanese
He probably updated his kies to 2.2.0.1 and thought he updated his firmware.
hi guys well you can download any ics for galaxy s2 and flash it i did it today and it work for me plus it support Arabic reading:)
Ahmad_chatila wrotehi guys well you can download any ics for galaxy s2 and flash it i did it today and it work for me plus it support Arabic reading:)

perfect keyboard has arabic support, and @Ahmad_chalita most of us is french educated, those bloody french :D......
and samsung lebanon said that we will get the update by the end of march, i think we can wait one more week.... no we can't, but i don't want to flash, because once i think about it i go Cyanogenmod....
I got tired of waiting and flashed the UK version. Looks good and most of all battery life is now great.
Yea I got tired of waiting as well. I flashed the UK version as well and I have to say, I am happy I did. Loving it
lol i flashed the UK version and odin froze and now my phone has no bootloader or OS :| i think i gotta make that usb jig to get it back :/ oh and hi :)
yo pulpish, do you see this icon on your phone now?

PHONE-YELLOW TRIANGLE-COMPUTER
One more Queston when you used to turn on ur phone the splash screen was Gt-I9100G right?
If yes that means you flashed a gt-i9100 firmware on a Gt-i9100G. And the G model is not yet compatible with ics (or at least the firmware you flashed).
And that is easy to fix.
All you need to do is get the official firmware for the G model (samfirmware.com, create account before getting the firmware). And flash it again using Odin.

Odin still sees your phone when you plug it. ;)

Note: After flashing the official firmware you might need to update it again with kies.

BOOM sg2 alive again.

BTW the icon above means that the phone is in a state of "obligatory" download mode, the button combination, the jig you tried to make in order to boot the phone in download mode are useless since it is already in that state.

You can build the jig later on to hide the fact that you flashed your phone or rooted it thus regaining your warranty. (it resets a counter)

If you have any questions let me know.

Hello :D thanks for the reply i feel i've gotten a step further but it's still going wrong, here's what I did:
I grabbed the CheckFusDownloader from http://fus.nanzen.se/#GT-I9100 and grabbed a French firmware for my model (double checked this time :P)
Used Odin 1.85 to flash it for PDA, failed.. tried again with a PIT file, failed again in the same place:

Also what looks like a blue progress bar showed up below the warning, though it's like 1mm long and cut off :P Might be worth mentioning that the only USB port that recognizes the phone is the ESAT one that has usb compatibility, USB 3.0 and my other 2.0 don't seem to read it, while waiting for your reply I'm gonna grab a driver and make it work somehow..
