chosen2k wroteIf yes that means you flashed a gt-i9100 firmware on a Gt-i9100G. And the G model is not yet compatible with ics (or at least the firmware you flashed).
And that is easy to fix.
All you need to do is get the official firmware for the G model (samfirmware.com, create account before getting the firmware). And flash it again using Odin.
Odin still sees your phone when you plug it. ;)
Note: After flashing the official firmware you might need to update it again with kies.
BOOM sg2 alive again.
BTW the icon above means that the phone is in a state of "obligatory" download mode, the button combination, the jig you tried to make in order to boot the phone in download mode are useless since it is already in that state.
You can build the jig later on to hide the fact that you flashed your phone or rooted it thus regaining your warranty. (it resets a counter)
If you have any questions let me know.
Hello :D thanks for the reply i feel i've gotten a step further but it's still going wrong, here's what I did:
I grabbed the CheckFusDownloader from
http://fus.nanzen.se/#GT-I9100 and grabbed a French firmware for my model (double checked this time :P)
Used Odin 1.85 to flash it for PDA, failed.. tried again with a PIT file, failed again in the same place:

Also what looks like a blue progress bar showed up below the warning, though it's like 1mm long and cut off :P Might be worth mentioning that the only USB port that recognizes the phone is the ESAT one that has usb compatibility, USB 3.0 and my other 2.0 don't seem to read it, while waiting for your reply I'm gonna grab a driver and make it work somehow..
