I'm a new member here. Would love to get your advice. Really unsure whether to buy iPhone 4s or the galaxy note. (or any other suggestion for that matter)

Get the iphone,Touchwiz is boring,i had a GS2 and im talking personal experience,i now have a 4s too.

plus Cydia and Installous >>>>> plus the whole appstore on IOS just puts it further above,plus the whole ecosystem of the iphone especially if you have a mac and use itunes.

I would go towards the iphone 4s, not only its the top 1 best camera phone, it has siri in it.

The Galaxy Note is HUGE.
I would choose the 4S since it has Siri and is cheaper than the Galaxy Note (In Lebanon anyway)

the 4s is not cheaper than the note whatsoever,the note is 640 bucks,the 4s is a whopping 710$.

I keep on hearing that the Apple Store is by far better than andriod market. Can any1 tell me what apps I'd be missing if i choose android over apple?

Seriously people ?Getting a phone just because it has some voice actions ? I don't see that huge importance even thought i tried it.
Also ICS is coming to the Note this month which is an awesome and smooth update with complete fresh UI.

you can easily change Touchwiz, you can flash a MIUI rom or and ICS AOSP rom.

Cydia and Installous ? You got Applanet and Aptoide where you can download without the need of file sharing websites filedude and etc (slower speed and errors sometime).

The iPhone itself without jailbreaking is completely useless, without cydia specifically I don't really call it a smartphone because of Apple measures. I had an iPhone, such tools like Sbsettings, Springtomizer,DisplayOut and a lot others made it a phone that i can compare with Gingerbread based devices.

I definitely preffer Android over iOS.

Galaxy Note large screen makes it incredibly awesome but there's an issue with Gingerbread makes it lagg a little. This would be fixed when Sammy releases the stable version of ICS on it. Compared to a phone with a 3.5 inch i say it's way to small.

Either get a 4.* from the currently available smartphones or wait for the HTC One X to be released in Lebanon.

I really don't understand this mentality, giving you less specs for a higher price compared to a better phone with a cheaper price. Apple did a good job in the Marketing Field, making people sell hteir iPhone 4 and repalce it with a 4S just because a voice action tweak "Siri' which was available on Android but with less functionality.

Anyway it has been revealed that Google will release its own voice control Siri-like and better, called the Assistant this year, prviously known as "Majel". Hopefully this year, things are going to change.

Also you'll find better customization apps that you wont find on Cydia.
Android market = App store + Cydia.

actually you will be missing on loads of apps,i HAD a galaxy s2 for almost 5 months,loads of games is just the start,i have seen games on ios Android didnt even seem like getting (and im talking about HD games and fun mini games) and you will be surprised how poorly designed the apps on android will look next to the ios apps,even obvious apps like whatsapp and nimbuzz and facebook,yes 3.5" may seem on the small side but i have small hands and sometimes i found my s2 hard to operate with one hand since i was not able to reach the edges of the screen,you do take a bit of a risk with an iphone though,it has tremendous build quality,glass and metal compared to Samsung's plastic,and iphones are tentative to not survive falls,apps crash on android,my s2 lagged after the second month,i could apply a theme and the phone wouldnt respond to my input,i could type and the phone would take long to show my typing,while ios is more stable and i never get a pop up where it tells me to "force close" an app,with android that happened a lot of times,as for siri,i do not find myself using it,it is a bit of a novelty to be quite honest,i do not care about this last point but a lot do and rightly so,prestige and if thats something that you care for,go for the iphone,and yes cydia adds a lot to your idevice,but i have an apple id and a credit card to it,i dont pay for the 6$ games since i have installous but apps that are paid that i care about always being able to update i do pay for,you can get them from installous but they wont update so,its not really an issue whichever way you wanna do it,and fuck this a long ass post,get whatever the fuck you want bro,you cant really make a bad decision here, wheeeew :P

First, the two phones are hugely different. One is 5.3" while the other is 3.5" so its first to choose your suitable size rather than manufacturer.
Second, 4S is around 700$ and Note is 615$ (yesterdays price).
Third, it is true Apple has some better app store than Android but you will not need anything more of the Android Market.
My advice is wait 2 or 3 month until the new phones arrive and theyll be like those around 600-700$ and you would chouse the suitable for you.

LoL, i don't know if u made up all these stuff or not but seriously are you sure u bought a Galaxy s2.

Again, i repeat the problem.with stability and that iOs is more sfable than Android is completely not trueIf you were on Gingerbread stock, then i agree its not very stable n Galaxy S2 but if you install a custom rom like CM7 or MIUI then its completely different.

Plastic > Glass - You can do a test or check the videos online.

The primary apps and games are available on both platforms. I dont really care about games in general, but i diagree that the quality is better iOS.
