Hello!
As HTC One X and S will use MicroSIM instead of normal SIM like on ipad, I wonder how to do it in Lebanon.
-Is Alfa converting sim to micro-sim? In that case can I keep both in case the later phone has normal sim?
-I heard some cell shops ''cut'' your sim to fit micro-sim, is that a good solution or it won't be at 100%?
Go to Alfa or MTC and tell the person on the counter that you need a micro sim card for the line. You need to take with you the original sim card and your ID card. Tell that person to copy the contacts for you as well, but if you have your contacts saved on the memory card of the phone, they can't help you. You can do it through gmail or outlook contact sync (or other ways). I had a Nokia N95 8GB and got an iphone; I copied the contacts to my mac's address book then made itunes sync contacts with address book, easy sleazy.
Ok!
Can I keep both sim and micro-sim?
How much do they charged you?
Is it fast or you need to come back after 3 days?
Its the same process as loosing your SIM card, you go to their office and tell them you want a micro-sim, so they make you a new one and disable the old card (though you can still use it to copy contacts).

you can keep both, but the Sim would be disabled, and only the microsim.

Alfa would charge you $5.5 for it (Im guessing MTC is the same)

and honestly if you know a guy that can cut it, go with it. worst case scenario is that you go to Alfa/MTC and make a new card.

P.S. it can take from 20 min to 12 hours depending, but within a day
I cut it myself. I cut it too much and it was smaller then the tray, so I had to apply a couple of drops of alteco super-glue to make it stay in the right place :)
You can do it just do some research and be very progressive when cutting it.
There are devices that can help you in cutting it right, I'm guessing maybe some shops have one of them...
Class will cut it for you for free without any problems. They'll do it on the spot. They have some sort of cutter with the same shape as the microsim.
Apple Safari wroteClass will cut it for you for free without any problems. They'll do it on the spot. They have some sort of cutter with the same shape as the microsim.
Spot-on!

and you get to keep that piece they cut so if your next phone takes normal sim just stick that micro sim in it then in the phone!
Good to hear!
Now I am ready for HTC One X :)
one month to go!
