So I downloaded 3 programs to monitor my daily consumption and compare it to what my ISP says. I got the following results for 24/02/2012 knowing that I didnt download anything before 7 am and after 11 pm:

- My ISP: 248 Mb (up and down)
- Itraffic monitor: 295 Mb
- Networx: 267 Mb
- DU Meter: 1.45 Gb!!!!!!! (It used to give me very accurate results before!!)

Can anyone explain to me (in simple language! :P) the reason behind those differences and if I can do something to get rid of them?
DU Meter is probably also counting the traffic to the local network
So what should I do in this case?

Alternatively, is it possible that he can use software that monitors data from a specific IP address, in this case the data coming from the IP address of the modem?
Check your game/software cracks, I have had this problem before and it turned out to be the crack for Call of Duty MW3

Modem doesnt record cumulative consumption!

MAC address probably, it will be more precise, but i dont know about software for that. And if modem are on UPS, it will be good idea (if modem support that) to use SNMP, to query model. This way you can keep precise statistics across reboots.

Sure you should keep records on PC and gather updates from time to time. And some modems does record, but this models are not available in Lebanon
get any pc , put on window server 2008 , forefront ...and use it as a leg pc ... you will get each and every packet
When I download at 120 kb/s, DU Meter says I am downloading at 530 kb/s! How come?
