Kareem OK so I have an iMac which does not have an Esata port and an external Bluray player with only E-sata connection. So basically a USB to Esata converter should work but I could not find such thing in Lebanon ( I've been looking since over a month ) What I have is a USB to SATA adapter, to connect external SATA 2.5 HDD drivers and a power adapter. But since the Bluray drive doesn't need more than 5V 0.9mA , I think it can be powered from USB only. The bluray drive is in an enclosure. I tried to connect the Esata to the Sata but it is not working. The device is remaining OFF. I am not very familiar with eSata technology to be honest, so if someone can give a hand, I'd be thankful. What I need is a way to connect the eSata drive to USB using USB to SATA converter. Thanks.
shant would this do the job? you can find that on pcandparts.com for 18$ +vat i don't think using usb 2.0 is an option, blueray drive needs better speeds than a usb 2.0 can offer
shant sorry, try this http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-FreeAgent-GoFlex-Upgrade-Cable/dp/B003IT6PHM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1329513176&sr=8-1 or this http://www.google.com.lb/search?hl=en&gs_nf=1&cp=15&gs_id=7&xhr=t&q=seagate+stae104&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1920&bih=918&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=A8M-T4qQAeKP4gTLi6mtCA
