  • Connecting TP-Link Router to Speedtouch Modem

I bought a TP-LINK TL-WR941ND recently but I'm having trouble making the internet to work on it. I currently have a Speedtouch 510 v6 modem. To setup the TP-Link router, I tried to follow the instructions on the CD but it didn't work. So I accessed the TP-Link router by typing 192.168.1.1 and tried to configure it manually. I changed the IP Address of the TP-Link to 192.168.2.1 because the previous one would conflict with that of the Speedtouch which is 192.168.1.254. I also did a MAC Clone. Before doing this, I had zeros (0.0.0.0) under the WAN. But after doing all of the above mentioned steps, numbers other than zeros showed.
After doing all of this, I was surprised that I still can't connect to the internet using the TP-Link router!
I'm currently subscribed with Sodetel (in case this helps).
If anyone has a TP-Link router and a speedtouch modem, kindly let me know how you did the configuration.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thank you for your reply.
As I mentioned, I already changed the IP of TP-Link from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1 but it's still not working. However, I didn't get what you mean by the following: "Now you set up an Automatic DHCP that connects from you modem to the router and then to the internet.(Type your modems IP into the Static DNS box, you IP would usually be 192.168.1.254 (If you are using Thomson or SpeedTouch branded modems))"
How can I put Automatic DHCP? In my router, there is nothing that shows automatic DHCP!

I have TP Link also, connect the cable coming from the modem to one of the ethernet ports (there are 4 ports usually) don't connect it to it's usual port. Disable DHCP, and voila, internet. This is my set up at home, provided by customer service at terranet. Good luck.
