unplugging screen without turning it off

hey guys, just wondering if its ok to turn off the ups without turning off my screen? (im too lazy)
i used to do that with my old screen but now i recently got the samsung px2370 so im a bit afraid on this one, btw the 2ms rate is super awesome!

If you have a decent UPS that doesn't over voltage when you turn it on , then it's OK.
I have had times at work when I fried the LCD adapter from turning on the UPS because of it being so crappy.
Test your voltage when you turn it on to see if it gives an over voltage. If it doesn't then it's OK.
I too have a Samsung PX2370 and I never turn it of when turning off and on my UPS (TrippleLite 650VA).

So did I..
I said when you power up the UPS it might give an overvoltage to the adapter of the LCD screen so I suggest that you check your voltages.. If they are stable then it's safe to leave the screen on.

Shant what I think AvoK95 point is, that any danger in not turning the screen off lies in the possibility of an overvoltage when you turn the UPS back on.

i.e. leaving it on is not a problem if when the power gets back to it, it's safe.

Yes it does, it means it depends on your UPS. If you check the UPS' voltage upon turning it on and the voltage is O.K. you have nothing to worry about.

it does not, this answers the turning on part, which i did not ask, my ups is fine during turning on,
a good answer would have been "no turning off wouldn't harm the monitor but turning on might because...etc"

i need someone to confirm this though
