yasamoka wroteWhat do you mean, audiphile earphones with Bass Clarity Enhancement? Give me a model name.
I used to use Yuin OK2's (before 1 earpiece broke) and I never looked back.
For headphones, I use HD485. They're big though. Not too portable.
I don't like earphones to do anything. No bass boost, no nothing. My Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium comes with X-Fi Crystallizer on by default, disabled that. X-Fi CMSS 3D, disabled it. Getting great soundstage, and bass, awesome sound quality.
Battery drain when playing 320kbps is low with new Android phones, I think (not sure). It's much easier for them to decode high quality 320kbps mp3s. The new phones' biggest drain is the display. Turn that off, and you have fantastic efficiency. You might want to check music play tests to see how much it lasts. And I don't recommend you limit yourself to a single brand.
For MP3s, however I recommend 192kbps VBR on LAME encoder rather than 320kbps CBR, because 192kbps subjectively, to audiophiles, seems to sound the same, while having a much less size.
Converting them into lossless (FLAC for example), you would probably run into issues of requiring several 32GB microSDHC cards (30$ for bulk on Amazon) or 64GB SDXC card(s) (very expensive), also you would need to make sure that the microSD slot is accessible without removing the battery.
EDIT: Also, with earphones that have a neutral signature, like the Yuin OK2s, which treats all music almost the same, EQ would have little benefit, I think. With the Sennheiser HD485, however, or mostly with all Sennheiser headphones, sound signature is warm, so you might prefer using EQ. But when I got used to them, nah I didn't touch anything. Awesome for bass, very clear.
Thank you for your great suggestions yasamoka!! Actually I realized that 80's quality is a problem towards bass, you know when 24 bits (not sure) records were out...
So, I mustn't really care about it, however, for the Audiphile earphones, I mean I'm looking for...
To switch the subject, is there any built-in amp phone? :P I'v noticed the difference even on my humble earphones between pre-amp and amp...
However, thanks again for your help!
