Hello all. Do you guys know from where can i buy microcontrollers here in Beirut? I'm pretty new with programming microcontrollers and i'm looking to buy my first one. I'm especially looking for Arduino Uno microcontroller because from what i've read from the forums that one is the best for beginners.

The Arduino Uno is a programmer/demo board, not the microcontroller itself. It's based on the microcontroller Atmega328. There's also the Arduino Duemilanov which is the latest edition of the Arduino programming/demo boards. It can program both the Atmega328 and the Atmega168 microcontrollers.

For a place to buy the Atmega microcontrollers, check out Katranji on Jnah, next to ER gate of Hariri Governmental Hospital.
As for the programmer itself, you can either make one yourself, buy a ready made one from RS-Online (Tallet el Khayat, next the gas station, just along the road where cinema Concord is), or ask a member on Lebgeeks called J4D who makes them as well to etch you one.

I know the Uno is not a microcontroller. I'm looking for the Uno, because it has all the necessary components on the board plus a bootloader pre-installed for beginners. Does Katranji have the Uno or the Duemilanov for sale?
