List of Microscopes:
- Microscope Optical: Just your regular microscope, nothing interesting.
- Microscope with Camera:
Datasheet; it's actually quite interesting, and since it's Chinese middle-class brand, I'm guessing it's also somewhat cheap (like 50$)
- Microscope with Camera and LCD screen:
Datasheet; just like the one above only supplied with an LCD display screen (alternative to viewing the snapshots on PC via software like above), but this one is class A Chinese product, so I'm figuring something along the lines of 100 to 200$.
If you're looking for something even more professional, then you need a stereoscope:
- Stereoscope AK30:
Datasheet; but this is going to be expensive.
As a biomedical engineer, I can get my hands on Olympus microscopes for 300 to 400$, and even though they come with excellent focus and zoom capabilities, I doubt you'll enjoy it as it's strictly used for professional labs. For a hobbyist, I advise you to go with the microscope enabled with a camera instead.
As for the telescope, my cousin used to have one as a kid and I enjoyed viewing the stars with it. For the life of me, I can't seem to remember the brand. I'll see if he still has it and if he's willing to sell it.
Personally, I would recommend the purchase of a microscope but not of a telescope. After 2 months of observations carried on clear summer nights, I could only locate like two stars and a planet. The level of air pollution hinders the view immensely.
